Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

I want to hear a few of the presets.

Say what you will about the quality of Factory Presets, but I usually loved the Helix factory presets.

This almost makes me want to cancel haha.
Excuse Me What GIF

We’re not talking about a movie.

If we’re worried about people making shitty clips and then basing decisions on that, no company would ever sell a single modeler. Or amp. Or pedal. Or guitar.
To some degree, though, it’s helpful when ordinary people play it because the influencers have a stake in it sounding amazing.

Yeah, but that isn’t a prized modern version of an AC30 by any means. I’m hoping it’s usable for my needs because that’s the one type of amp I use 98% of the time.

I've honestly really liked the Vox CC clips I've heard thus far, but I would say I think the Carillon might be the best Vox/DC30 amp in Helix or, ostensibly, Stadium.

It's basically a Hype Knob version of that type of amp.

I also like the L6 originals. And I guess if the CC was good enough for them to model it will probably be fine. I was just curious why they didn't opt for some vintage AC30 (though they are all quite different).

I’ve got a sick video of the new Mesa Mark IIC+ HRG. I recorded it on my T-Mobile Sidekick, hope that’s okay.
That’s perfect 😍 post it up
I know you are likely in the same room as the amp but
If you were down the hall that would be even better

You and I may be the only 2 persons in the whole wide world to actually like the (later) factory presets.

I came to the HX at 2.5 (I guess) and even then I could never get the hate for the factory presets. Some were great, some were okay, some were meh. Just what I would expect from a preset made by another person , with another guitar (probably), for another genre (probably) and with another playback system (probably).

So, yes, show us the factory presets!

I always found the factory presets, including the new ones, less relevant to my playing at home. But I think many of those presets are meant to be used in a mix context, and I'm sure they shine there.

Do you play them in a mix?

For demos: Yes. A lot.

I played bass with the Helix in a band. I don't know if I ever used one in a recording or a gig as I'd always have some personal tastes (distortion etc.), but I did a lot of rehearsals with them.
