Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

I mean, I would happily get started on playing with it even with 1.0 firmware and no manual, but I can see why Line 6 wouldn't view that as an optimal customer experience.
There are some pretty big pivots from Helix/HX, like preset management, Cab IR management, output routing/Matrix Mixer, templates, controller assignment, the Command Center... They're all big improvements, but definitely require explanation to someone intimately familiar with Helix/HX.

Mid-Novemberish looks pretty likely, but we'll be positively slammed until then. Vacation is looking mighty sweet right about now.

Got 2 weeks to find 2 grand then! <gulp>

I like the sound of all that TBH!!

having participated in many alpha releases of software, I can without hesitation say that if people got it early even knowing that 1.1 wasn't ready, the amount of THIS IS AN UNBAKED PILE OF SHIT posts would be off the charts.

I mean, yeah, from my perspective, 1.0 is certainly unbaked, but then gain, Helix/HX isn't fully baked from my perspective either. We're always thinking two or three firmware releases ahead and the current firmware is always annoying because we're excited for what's coming.

by the way this is super timely ... I just had a scribble strip LED go wonky on my Helix rendering it completely unusable < possible sarcastic overstatement >

Wow it is subtle - i could only barely tell any difference for the Twin Reverb and Super Lead in those clips. Feels like it's mostly baked-in compression and EQ?
I think Hype is (perhaps more than anything else) something you won't be able to properly evaluate, or appreciate, until you're holding the guitar in your own hands and turning the knob. Just listening to online audio clips, the change in volume alone is enough to keep my ears confused.
