Yeah but those lunchbox thingo's aren't really representative of good amps nor good tone IMO. They're just stocking fillers. It'd be like rejecting Orange coz they did the Tiny Terror, when the Rockerverb and Thunderverb are dickpunchers.

Agreed completely. But I tend to blank out most any high gainer other than the super obvious suspects anyway. So not having an up to date Boogie for me but having a Rev just is a head scratcher. That didn't stop my 2027 pre-order from going out though. It'll probably be a non-issue at that point

I know @Deadpan has multiple killer Mesas, and he probably can't wait to unleash then when Proxy drops in the spring.

He even has a Stilleto which, in some ways, is basically a proto-Badlander.

Agree with all this, but also, the EVH and XTC and 2203 were only just released on Helix and probably stand to gain less with the newest modelling than revisiting some older helix models (which often don’t have all the modes and channels).

But yeah, they have their own path for it so i’m sure it’ll make sense in the end.

I'm just here to say (again) that the 2203 in Helix is f*ck!n funtastic!

@Digital Igloo The REVV 120 is the offspring of a 5153 and a Recto. I really appreciate it being included in the first 16. If I had to use one high gain amp, this would be it.

I have heard them sound good in clips like Shawn Tubbs but also they remind me of transistor distortion plug into a big clean tube power amp in some clips
They are just kind of pedestrian , like PRS archon or Blackstar is a very good example

Revv red is sick. I use it a lot. For my sloganyear stuff I only removed and replaced with my my recto coz I was being an amp purist knobhead. The revv was really damn good. I need to launch those songs!

I very much disliked the Revv 120 Generator I had.

Then again, I've tried/owned multiple boutique amps and never found one I loved. However, the Omega Granophyre was amazing and I kick myself for selling that work of art
