Send me a link and I'll go smack the kids down. Running Stadium with an H90 would be cool as hell; why do they think we put four effects loops on the thing?

  1. Not at launch. Also note that 1.1 won't have Agoura preamps, only full amps. Those are coming a bit later.
  2. It's done but I need to dig in and make sure it's accurate, as it currently reflects our TRD, which overserves. The whole thing is web-based so we'll be able to update and improve things at any time.

Are dedicated power amp models on the roadmap? It’s probably not a common use case, but I run synergy preamps into the QC along with captures of my rack mount power amps. It’s not a critical use case for me, but it’s fun to experiment with.

I’m probably buying a Tonex One soon mainly for running a capture of a power amp into HX Stomp for post-FX, with my pedalboard and preamp first in chain.

I’m thinking the capture function coming next year should cover that ground pretty well. Hoping it trickles down to the HX Stomp version of Stadium that will be more in my price range.

But I’d still like to see a few power amp models as well!
 
I keep going back and forth if I want to snag a One or just buy a brown sound pack and reap the software benefits at a cheaper price vs a hardware unit.

I am concerned about the usability of the One and I still am unsure if there is an app for android?

No, and given how bad the iOS app is, it's best to pretend IK does not have any mobile support for Tonex.

With the group buy, you can get the One and all the Bronwsound packs and more for the price of just the One. I would strongly suggest that route. The One is a limited mini-device, not a full featured modeler and multi-effect in one, but if you accept that, it is a really good device for what it is.

IMO the hardware only makes sense when you actually need hardware for whatever reasons.
But if you do, the TO suits a whole lot of purposes (so many that with my second one not even being there, I'm already speculating about how useful a 3rd one would be - but I can resist for now). Besides the typical use on a pedalboard, you possibly can't have a smaller backup unit, a smaller audio interface, a smaller headphone practising amp, etc.

Well, depends on your needs. If you add one of those MIDI controller boxes, it lives up to quite something else, the main downside possibly being that there's no dedicated dirt pedal to slap in front. The FX IMO are solid, switching is almost gapless and the autosave nature of the thing makes it an excellent live tool, at least as a backup.

I agree that it is an excellent device, I have two Ones and the OG Pedal. I think they are great for what they are and can do, and they do more now than when I get the first one.

The key to happiness with Tonex IMHO is to use it for what it is good at, and not try to make it into something it isn't. If you expect to replace a QC, Helix, Kemper, or Fractal unit with a Tonex One, you are probably going to be dissatisfied with the limitations of the hardware and software, unless your needs are simple or you are looking to simplify. It does amp captures really well, and it adds a bunch of other things that can allow it to be a great practice or backup solution. BUT, the more you ask of it, the more likely you will run into its limits and get frustrated.

Mongillo expressed concern about the usability of the One, and I think his concerns may be valid for him. 99% of the time, I am using my One in place of a vintage style tube amp with a single channel or no channel switching, and in that context it is very usable and has more effect and features than what it is replacing. If you are used to something more full featured, with at least a simple screen and menu system, the need to use a laptop for major changes, or the need for external control devices is definitely something to consider before buying.

All that said, with the group buy, I would think the One is a no brainer for someone who wants some of the content packs or other software.

The plan would be to place it with a traditional pedalboard so I'm totally fine with the "not all in one" approach.

I could just use the software but running pedals into the front of my AI just doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies 😂

It works extremely well for that purpose and takes pedals absolutely fine (obviously not true for all captures and all pedals, but that's every bit as in analog amp life).
It does need a really good PSU, though. Without any doubt one of the more sensible pedals regarding power supplement.

This is a perfect use case for a Tonex One. Put a couple good captures on it, and then stick it at the end of your pedal board in place of an amp. I would absolutely recommend the One for this over the software as I find the software to be a less than pleasant user experience, while for me, the One just works.

If you plan to change captures every time you play, then the software is easier, but if you can setup a couple profiles and not touch them for weeks or longer, it's better for your blood pressure and mental health to avoid the software.

That’s a great use for the Tonex One! I sold my big Tonex but kept the little guy for utility use cases like this. I haven’t tried the new capture process yet, but the UI looks to have batch processing now. That will make it much easier to grab several captures of your power amp at various settings, depending on what you are using. I need to give it a whirl as well!
