Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

Haven't done a ton of research, but apparently there isn't a single Oktoberfest event happening in Mannheim next weekend? I guess it's primarily a Bavarian/Munich thing? Bummer; there are a bunch of Oktoberfest-y events in LA, but I've never been to one in Germany.

Dude, seriously, the last thing you want is any real Oktoberfest events. Hordes of folks lying around passed out, preferably in their own (or worse: someone else's) vomit.
Add to this unbearable musical entertainment and prices that make you think you've entered a 3 star restaurant.

FFS, I'd really like to attend Guitar Summit, but as said, gigs on friday and saturday. And to make matters worse, we'll be having my son's birthday party on saturday morning to early afternoon. When coming home saturday night (or rather in the not so early morning hours on sunday), I'll likely pass out quicker than the turbo-beer-downers @ Oktoberfest.
Geeking out on guitar gear and possibly saying hi to the L6 folks defenitely makes up for a more enjoyable event. Maybe next year. Or in my next life, when I might have chosen a decent profession.

In the area around Mannheim there are a lot of vine fests in this time of year, that could be more of interest than any Oktoberfest, just like Sascha said!

Yeah, as soon as I posted that, I imagined some German guy visiting LA in February, asking why we don't have a bunch of Mardi Gras events, not knowing that Mardi Gras is mainly a New Orleans thing. Dumb Americans and all...

I remember being in Germany once during the fasching festival which culminates February. People wanting to cut off my tie if I remember right. I can’t remember whether that was Munich or Solingen though (place I worked for had offices in both).

Beer in Germany is great anyway IMO - better to go when it’s not a festival as it just gets busier and more expensive. I’ve always enjoyed my visits there and I hope you have a great time :)

Or if you want to get shitfaced on beer, visit Heidelberg, stop by the Vetter and have a few liters of the Vetter 33.

THIS is the format I'm looking for now! I like that it was a wide palette of cleans/edge of breakup with the exception of funk and neo-soul (And I know those tones are there, but it would've been nice to hear them).

Can't wait for the crunch and hi-gain iterations of this concept.
If tomorrow's is Stadium Hi gain samples i predict the crowd going wild
