Don't get me wrong, it looks like a neat piece of hardware, but there's no way in heck i'm throwing that kind of money to a Kickstarter project.

Interesting how their "lavaAI STEM isolator" is a paid service ($3.99/mo, or $39.96/y), when Line 6's Helix Stadium offers the exact same feature for free. Just bad timing.

I've played one of their guitars for an hour or so. Seems gimmicky at first but is actually sort of making sense.
Also, guys such as Allen Hinds usually don't give their name away for a dubious thing.
But apart from that, this is raising quite some questions. There's very little actually describing the functionality, so I'm not sure what the purpose of this would actually be.

This device does support @Chocol8 's idea though, about how the device would be way cheaper to just use your phone or tablet. Stuff like this isn't really a gig-worthy device anyway though.

Yeah, but I would have the device on the floor with foot switches and the iPad on the stand for more in-depth changes if/when needed. I would not want to be hitting the touchscreen much during a gig, but it would be a lot better than having to have a laptop or bending down to go through menus.

In this case, I think it's quite a different situation. As you said yourself, it doesn't seem to be gig-worthy, so an "all in one" package isn't really required.

Btw, I absolutely support that part of the idea.
Which is why I'd either want a detachable touchscreen or a combination of a (smaller) onboard touchscreen and a fully featured tablet editor.

Anyhow, in my ideal world, the detachable touchscreen would have all the knobs going with it, too. Just imagine a device such as the HX Stadium's screen with the 8 knobs below as one single device that you could either keep attached to the unit (should you not need to do adjustments often) or detached, nicely mounted on a stand, allowing you to do all kinda wicked things, realtime musical performance actions (delay feedback orgies anyone?) included. Take that a step further and the tablet portion could work as on a Korg Chaos pad.
