I have no idea what Steve does day to day but he's helped a bunch of plugin developers incorporate NAM into their plugins (Solemn Tones, ML Sound, Submission Audio). There's also a synergy between his efforts and Tone3000 and those guys have just rolled out API access for people to link into. I think it's more like the open source NAM platform is one lane where anyone can grab it and do what they want, but when someone wants to build a product or their own closed ecosystem then Steve can help them out for a close source solution.

I have no real info besides Steve leaving his former job and focusing full time on NAM now. And then you also see multiple plugin releases coming out thanking Steve for help. I guess it's all moving in a positive direction. Maybe he helped consult Line6 or Two Notes with their stuff, not sure.

The momentum with NAM is impressive. If commercial businesses feel secure in working with Steve to implement NAM in their systems it could find inclusion in many products - something like we have with IRs for cabinets which are supported on most modelling platforms.

I can't see Kemper using NAM because it would go against their proprietary format. I'm a bit surprised they don't have a marketplace where you can buy and sell profiles and they get a cut. Same with QC.

Add this to the list of abandoned ideas. Just not worth the “discussion” about it (Please, don’t PM me about this, I don’t want to read another PM about any of this stuff. It ain’t gonna work, easy as that)
 
I'm back to leaning towards returning the Kemper Player. I do like the sound of it, but I don't see it replacing my Fractal and it's too expensive to have as an extra piece of gear to mess around with occasionally.
 
There are other mods besides Drew on this forum. Myself, David Lo Pan and Lorne Malvo. So if you are somehow hurt or offended by testing the waters with some different approaches; it isn't an open season to dump in Drew's inbox. He's not the only one working here; he's just the one up front. This place requires time, money and some moderation, believe it or not. We want everyone to have a good time but there will always be bumps in the road, inevitably.

I didn't ask him for an itemized list of who messaged him; I just know he was bombarded a bit. And gets bombarded on whatever other issues crop up around here. I am speaking in more genral terms as far as he is the one up front modding and posting at the same time interacting with you all. You're very direct so I would assume your suggestions would be posted right here in the thread and not in a PM.

So, IIRC, June 21st is the summer solstice and the official beginning of "Summer". It officially ends on Sep 22, so we can expect the new profiling .... when?
 
Does it sound good? Yes.
Does it feel good? Yes.
Does it work in real world situations? Yes.
It it cheaper than the competition? In the uk a big yes.
Does it pass a nul test? It doesn’t matter a flying fuck if it passes the other tests.
