HELL YES!!!!! They’re playing one of my favorite venues down here! It’s a nice little amphitheater in Pompano, outdoor venue that’s maybe 3 miles from my apartment. They both always have a good turnout at the Parker, which is a good size venue, but I’m a bit surprised they’re hitting here again since they both were just here within the last year and a half.

I thought for sure they were going to turn the G3 reunion into a tour, guessing EJ is busy next year.

I don't know what misfired in my brain, but I skipped Vai's visit to New Haven last year. I'll definitely take a drive down to Waterbury in April, assuming I can score a ticket.

Last time I saw Satriani (same venue in New Haven), he blew the roof off.

Also, it appears that ZZ is putting together a G3 Documentary.

@Eagle it’s hard to tell from the video, but it appears that they remove the string retainer bar from the JS6 that ZZ’s playing.

Just saw G3 last week. Posted a vid with zero interest on the forum here.
My tone is better than all 3 of them Vai's was the synergy modules with a shrill top end
Satch used the JVM's and was ok. Eric's was straight mud on the dirt channel. All their playing was AMAZING!! The jam is kinda lame
Born to be wild, a Jimi tune and crossroads. Eric has head phones on way to side to get away from the endless wammy pinched harmonic drops
Glad I went but more glad I brought ear protection!

I’d blame the sound guy. All three of them have had stellar tones on studio recordings and various times I’ve seen them live.

I’m assuming EJ is wearing the headphones because he knows his ears will be butchered by Vai and Satch’s amps the second he steps foot onstage with them. That’s why he did it in ‘96 and is also why he doesn’t stand in front of his own amps.

They all sounded great in Arizona a few weeks back! I forgot my ear protection, but the casino had a killer sound system, so it was all good.
