I saw the original three on the first tour. Definitely one of my most memorable concerts. Satriani on the Flying in a Blue Dream tour (club show), a close second.

It was the 2nd concert I ever went to when I was 14, I didn’t give a shit about Vai or Satch, I just wanted to see EJ. Then Vai’s tech walked across the stage holding two JEMs by the handles and that pretty much sparked it off. I had seen JEMs before but seeing them in person getting carried like that looked so fucking cool. Then Vai came out and my jaw was pretty much on the floor from the first note until I left that night. Skipped school the next day and went digging through uncle’s guitar mag collection for every Vai article I could find.
