JNC lesson (modern jazz, Sco)

I’m a fan of JNC in general but some videos just hit home for me. This one is about getting more out of playing within a scale. Years ago I saw Mike Stern at a small clinic discuss and play through the same concept. I got the concept, but never figured out how to get started with it. It’s nice to have a practical thing to drill in on.

Nice…practicing as we speak
I memorized the sequence so I can sing it…identify the degree of the scale for each note by ear….and play it/find it based on that.
I try to stay away from visual patterns..so now it’s a combi with ear training.
