"Is it gone, though?" AKA "Oh Hi, (not) Mark!" AKA Retail therapy

The TGF Nu Metal band has quite the roster now. Your jump suit and mask are in the mail, you need to provide your own hair dye and vans.
Alternatively, you could skip the shitty Nu Metal riffs and play some Death Metal instead. Rectos are great for that. Just sayin‘. :idk

Congrats on the amp, JT! I hope the coming week will be better for you.

I cycled through a ton of old school DM band sets from Brutal Assault fest 2023 the other night. Obituary, Deicide, Dismember, Left to Die, Sodom. Oooooof :satan :guiness :satan

Welcome to the club home boy! Multi-Watt is so much fun.

Pro tip, take pics of your favorite settings once you get them dialed in. I find that I tend to never be able to get it back to where it was (kinda like a Mark amp in that way) when I’m liking it. Made so many Profiles and Captures of this amp it’s crazy but the amp does_not_disapoint.

Try these settings on for size with a SD-1 (or TS, etc.) if you have one.

Over sauced… for my pleasure. :D

Frankly, I though you would hop on this one:

Multi-Watt is way more fun though.

Congrats!

Gave these setting a go today and was impressed as I expected I would be! Only hiccup for all my "tone testing" is getting the Boogie poweramp cooking just enough up and above the preamp. I won't know how it fares till our next gig but at home; it's a blast either way \m/ I'm betting I will run my per usual of amp plus dirt pedal as needed or try it as a channel switcher. Next gig has full production (aka everything is mic'd) so I am not sure I want to test the waters with a new amp there. We'll see.

Clean is quite nice, Raw is good with some tweaking, Vintage is stellar as is Modern. So much brutal :satan I need to do some direct testing with my Suhr, III and FR as well see how it likes some ODs I have hanging about.

Hey @JiveTurkey congrats with the beast! How it feels and sounds compared to Badlander? I know you offloaded it some time ago, but from your memory is it that much inferior to MW?

Not really a 1:1 amp experience? Not sure why they associated the Badlander with the Rectifier other than for business and marketing ease purposes? Badlander is also not inferior tonally. Especially if you are looking at a straight up ROCK crunch machine. LOVE it for that. The MW is more complex but at it's core for me; much meaner and heavier by nature than the BL when you just focus on it and using it as a single channel amp.

My 2 cents. Smart choice. Seems a Recto is much more in your wheelhouse
of tastes and preferences than a Mark anyways. :idk
I love Marks; but my dumbbrain tendencies are much more intune with the Recto tones. The BL crunch and Mark do have some overlap, imo. Though the BL crunch seems a bit "nicer" in a good way. I'll still end up with a Mark I am betting :bag
ahh Fuck it…ordered. :satan The last one from local store. Will pick up it in the next few days. Bye bye badlander

Good for you! I hope you love it \m/

Very cool. You probably already know, but the power amp Master on these changes the tone pretty noticeably. If you turn on the loop and use the Output to turn down your volume, you can turn up the power amp Master. Keep adjusting the Output and Master and you can hear the changes in tone in the Master sweep.

Running it through a Shur reactive load and into the III with an IR you can really get things cooking without using the loop. Keeping the Master between 9:00 - 11:00 and using a boost you can get it into luscious chug territory and turn up the output volume on the III. Love this amp.

Yeah I worked in my jam room to get myself to a point where I can set up the Suhr rig and see how it goes with IRs into my studio monitors and FR12 :satan

Last time I owned one, one of the things it got used for was a tour as a hired gun in a backing band for a ‘90s Dave Matthews-alike contemporary Christian singer-songwriter.

If I can pull that off with a Recto you can pull off Love Shack :rofl

Ironically, a duo setup of rectos is literally -the- Dave Matthew's band setup (Tim reynolds)….
