One feature I’d love to see is the ability to do something akin to a multicapture where I could feed 2 inputs to Tonex and have it create multiple caps off a single run.

My use case, set up a full miced amp and cab with a reactive load/DI between the head and cab. This would allow you to get the following:

- full rig with a mic
- direct cap of head
- at least in theory, a cab only capture that you may be able derive from having the full rig and direct captures.

I only use it for when I want to have another flavours to my main amp.

I have a AA6 that hasn’t been plugged in since I got my first Tonex Pedal. The Amplifier was pretty good for its time and it does still sound as good as ever, but I do think the feel of a good capture on Tonex is another level.

Fwiw, looks as if the Dumble capture that I stumbled upon after 2 minutes into the thing will become my de facto pedal platform. It's just fantastic.

Also, people are so often talking about how captures are less tweakable than component modeled amps - and while that certainly is true, once you're in the ballpark, the onboard EQ of the Tonex is defenitely quite powerful to adjust things in order to accomodate a certain musical environment. With that particular Dumble capture I also think that the gain knob is working pretty well from pristine clean to a pretty mellow bluesy kinda overdrive. No idea how differently the real deal would act, but I'm absolutely fine with that.

Also, the Tonex takes pedals like a champ. Things have been pretty decent with the Amplifirebox already, but this is very noticeably upping the game for me.

The software has a ways to go but it's much better that it was when it first came out. IMO it's the only drawback.

Other than that it's great and I'm thinking about picking up a ToneX 1 to add to my OG Tonex to load stomps on.

Do you increase the gain on the capture to better match the source or leave it stock/the way it is after capturing is complete?

Yes you can add an IR, use VIR, or the stock cabs.

I use my Origin 50H as a pedal platform with a 212 with the band so all my uploads are DI's.

I just left it stock. It sounded very close when I did the compare screen, so I did not adjust anything

Still, as far as cabs go, I do of course know that I can add them on my own - but to get an idea of how you think the amp is supposed to sound, wouldn't it be a better idea if the VIR setting was already included in the download? I mean, we all know how drastically different cabs can alter an amp's sound, and the ones I checked with so far all sound pretty far away from the audio demos.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have any mics to capture them with my cabs yet but plan to check that process out soon. I do have an attenuator that has a line out but unsure if it will affect the tone.

Most of the covers we play are higher gain stuff and I usually just roll off the volume on my guitar when I want to clean it up a little.

I believe tone net only allows sharing of captures, not presets. Any cab not baked into the capture is added in the preset, not the capture.

You can share preset files with someone directly, but not through the site.

Unless you have the same guitar with the same setup through the same pedals (if any) you still would not know what they heard.

I really don’t give a shit what they were thinking anyway. The only thing that matters is “does it sound like I want it to?”
