Not exactly but I was working on the Meshuggah pack before using the V2 software and there are 3 captures in the pack made with the older version and the others are the newer.Have you got any A/B's of V1 vs V2 accuracy?

hahaha, no. The zip seems to be damaged. I got 1.10.0 easily enough. Also, anyone successfully download the Windows version of 1.10.1?
I've already installed V2 (or 1.10.1) and don't really have any like for like ones to compare atm. Curious if anyone else is able to see what the modelling improvements are with examples. Not exactly but I was working on the Meshuggah pack before using the V2 software and there are 3 captures in the pack made with the older version and the others are the newer.
Appreciate the confrimation.hahaha, no. The zip seems to be damaged. I got 1.10.0 easily enough.
Some really good sounding tones so far in this playthrough. I feel like I’m hearing a much more lively top end on these caps, more or better harmonic content up top.
This is what I was just thinking to be honest. I've enjoyed the majority of captures I've purchased from Amalgam but can't imagine buying them again to get v2 improvements. It’s a solid mark against capture tech that you have to reshoot all your caps every time they update the capture engine. Probably not gonna stop us who like to make captures, but your average user isn’t gonna go for that. They REALLY aren’t going to love having to pay for the V2, V3, V4 version of their favorite paid caps again either.
Not a knock against IK at all, or anyone really. It’s just the nature of this digital tech. Gotta resample the source. That takes time, gear, and ultimately money.

Nicely played Karlis. You won't have to. He said the new website he is working on will allow him to offer updates (not just V2 and not just for Tonex) to people who bought the original packs.
Great info, thanks for the heads up. I haven’t made it that far in the video. That Superlead cap isYou won't have to. He said the new website he is working on will allow him to offer updates (not just V2 and not just for Tonex) to people who bought the original packs. He also addressed it in the video. See 16:30 - 18:00 or so in the video posted above.
That was my guess as well. I felt like high gain could get a little fuzzy sounding with the tone x and felt like I heard some here. Not terrible at all though! That's some real progress. Had a brief listen to the samples - A comes across fuller & with additional high-end content. B sounds close, a bit muffled perhaps & a bit leaner. This may also be down to gain staging I guess but I assume that chain's calibrated for unity gain.
My guess would be A is the real amp & B is ToneX.
I guess presumably the capture engine tweaks level off and they don’t have to reshoot everything every 2 years.
Bogner Überschall and Recto vs NAM (standard and xSTD architectures).
What we saying?
I wish/hope they come up with something that allows for a clustered workflow, and/or the ability to make a capture, and then transfer it to a beefier machine later.Yes, it is a tough business decision. I am sure vendors don't want to give work away for free, but much like modeler updates from Line 6 and Fractal, there is significant value in the goodwill and reputation you get by not trying to wring every penny out of your past customers.
The good news is V2 comes with what sounds like a MUCH improved workflow for high volume vendors. The ability to batch process a bunch while you sleep can take a big part of the sting out of recapturing a catalog of 100+ amps. Also, Karlis has learned and gotten better over the last couple of years, so there was already talk of him going back to some of the old capture packs anyway.
29 minutes on a Mac M1, btw. But that's the optimized capture. I'll have to try the higher res one.
