didn't have to watch Jason Sadites.
Damn! I was looking forward to your suffering!
didn't have to watch Jason Sadites.
You can try them free capture in here:On another note, does anyone have a preset they use with their Acoustic into their electric amp? the few that I have tried are too quiet and I'm get all kinds of artifacts trying to turn them up.
We have 3 songs, so far, where I play Acoustic and the Lead Guitarist plays electric.
I don’t usually include IR’s with the models - my feeling with IR’s is no single IR is going to be perfect for everyone, and the best solution is to be able to fine tune it to your needs. With some amps I include one or a handful when I feel it makes sense to have a reference point.Looks like I'll be getting that Amp Pack on next Payday, lol...
BTW, does that amp pack come with IR's?
THIS is always a windidn't have to watch Jason Sadites.![]()
Wow, when I saw this thread had grown several pages since my last visit my first thought was “Uh oh…..what happened now?”, so I was pretty glad to see it’s all good shit!
I’m even more enticed to give capturing a shot now, especially since I’m addicted to that Ceriatone.
You can try them free capture in here:

Whenever I’ve captured an amp I used a loadbox, are you capturing the cab here too via a mic, or do you split the signal and capture the amp only but use the cab’s load?Did new captures of my ENGL FB25 with 1x12 V30 instead of the resistive load. Came out much better so even uploaded them! Also added a boosted capture.
Did som A/B’ing between Tonex and NAM. They’re different, probably because of different levels and of course other things, but Tonex is definitely on an OK level now. I even liked it a bit better sometimes! Now I’m getting GAS for a One pedal…
4 captures are up: Clean, Clean with Wampler Euphoria in front, Hi gain and Hi gain with a Precision Drive in front. All are amp (or amp + stomp) only.

Also saw that the new ENGL pack is made with V1, so my interest completely vanished… Hope they do a V2 pack soon or upgrade soon!
Yeah these amps have a Line Out that’s after the power amp. Together with the resistive load you can run it disconnected from a cab in Speaker Off mode.Whenever I’ve captured an amp I used a loadbox, are you capturing the cab here too via a mic, or do you split the signal and capture the amp only but use the cab’s load?
Edit, I’m dumb I just saw you said amp only. So I’m assuming the signal is split off?
I gotcha, so you’re running it in speaker on mode with a cab, which I’m assuming then the resistive load is bypassed in the line out? My MarkV has a DI out but I think the resistive load is baked in, so I got a Suhr RL lolYeah these amps have a Line Out that’s after the power amp. I’ve done both NAM and Tonex caps now with speaker off and full power (did a similar thing earlier this year as well) and the resistive load sucks the life out of the tone for me!
Nice, I’d like some good MkV captures. ;-)I gotcha, so you’re running it in speaker on mode with a cab, which I’m assuming then the resistive load is bypassed in the line out? My MarkV has a DI out but I think the resistive load is baked in, so I got a Suhr RL lol
NVM, just referenced the manual and when it’s set to speaker on it bypasses the load. That’s cool that I can capture it with my cab as the load the same way you’re doing it!
Tonex V1 captures were great already, they didn't start to suck the minute V2 was released. imho : who makes the capture is more important than the technology. I would rather use my own captures (or someone else captures with similar tastes than me) made with an Headrush Prime or Mooer GS1000 that someone else' captures with Tonex or NAM. The current Kemper capture technology is nous considered outdated, but the great Kemper profiles are still sounding great. But that's just me.The V2 captures do really sound better than the old ones. Hope most vendors update their offerings, i just cant buy any captures done with V1 now.
I listened to some clips of the ENGL pack and for ridiculously high gain, to my ears there is something off on V1 captures. I might be biased, my ears are probably shit and it’s all subjective but I do think those kinds of captures are noticeably better when done with V2. Lower gain is probably harder to tell apart for me.Tonex V1 captures were great already, they didn't start to suck the minute V2 was released. imho : who makes the capture is more important than the technology. And yes, your own captures will probably be what you prefer always. :-)
Thought so too, but the metadata on the captures says otherwise…Well, I believe the ENGL Ampthology Vol 1 pack is supposed to be made with the new engine/modeler («V2»).
I'll do my research this week and attempt this next Tuesday when I have the house to myself lmao - disclosure it's the 35 watt versionNice, I’d like some good MkV captures. ;-)
The capture signal is loud as fuck though, so make sure no one is home!
The interface is not reporting correctly (I believe this is why there are issues with the v1 / v2 sort on the Home tab) but the ENGL Ampthology Vol 1 were all V2 captures, I can confirm that 100%.Thought so too, but the metadata on the captures says otherwise…
Makes sense that the captures were made earlier before release. April is what is stated.
