Marketing blurb:

With real-space sampled IRs and advanced convolution technology, Verbera restores the natural ambiance of iconic locations—from vast stadiums to the walls of NASA’s spacecraft bay. It also brings vintage plate and spring reverbs back to life with stunning precision.
But Verbera doesn’t stop at reality.
Inside, you’ll find a curated collection of imaginative, never-before-heard IRs—featuring unique filters, delay artifacts, and textures that feel lifted from retro sci-fi scores.
Verbera blends these worlds using a dual-reverb design:
IR reverb for spatial authenticity, and XR algorithmic reverb for creative shaping—with full control over every parameter. Use Freeze for real-time texture performance. Push boundaries with ease.
Built for professional stage and studio use:
• 32-bit/192kHz AD/DA
• Instant IR loading with ultra-low latency
• Up to 20s reverb tails
• Clone and capture your own reverbs
• Total tone shaping with Tone, Mod, Attack, and Pre-delay

Features:

✪ Includes 120 built-in IRs with real-world spaces and original creations
✪ Stereo input and output with selectable input modes
✪ Dual reverb: Flexible combination of IR convolution reverb and additional algorithmic reverb (XR)
✪ Supports reverb tails up to 20 seconds with low-latency performance
✪ Real-time IR envelope adjustment and Instant IR loading
✪ Full control over reverb tone with parameters like Attack, Tone, Pre-delay, and Mod
✪ Trail function switch for tail preservation

Yeah pretty good feature set. It has 1/8" TRS MIDI in/out a bit weirdly on the front under the footswitches rather than in the back or sides. You'd probably want an angled plug for those. It can be also powered via USB according to the manual.

The concept seems similar to the Strymon Iridium's reverb. An IR reverb + algorithmic reverb to add to it. Strymon used this to allow for a shorter IR to be expanded to a larger room reverb. Verbera is more like adding extras on top of whatever IR reverb you like.

The clone feature is interesting. It seems primarily designed to clone other reverb pedals, with a few caveats:

Cloning in the Verbera means it captures the “feel” or space of another reverb device — kind of like taking an audio snapshot of how it sounds. It’s based on IR (Impulse Response) tech, so it works best with clean, simple reverb tones (not stuff with shimmer, modulation, or other funky effects).

1. turn off modulation or shimmer on the reverb pedal — the Verbera doesn’t clone those. You can always add modulation later using the Verbera’s built-in Mod control.
2.The maximum reverb length that can be cloned: 20 seconds (mono) or 10 seconds (stereo)

I don't think this is a pedal for me, but I'm interested to see what else Hotone might do with this new pedal format. I like the feature set and functionality.

Looks good and features are interesting.
With convolution reverb quality and depth of the library is crucial, though.

It has a pretty long list of factory reverbs. We'll see how it sounds when videos start popping up.

Trilllium Lane TL Space (then acquired by Avid and called simply Space) convolution reverb for pro tools, back in the late 2000s, already had that kind of IR is their library :)

I used them few times to make wired stuff or sound design.

I have collected reverb IR's for awhile and have had and used tasty chips integral, bigsky mx etc..

Don't have anything to play these right now though and I am more than happy with fractal reverbs, but I may get this one day to play with.

What I loved about Integral is being able to record into it and make your own reverbs/delays/filters and what not with any sound or load up any sample/wav and turn it into a unique reverb/delay/filter etc..

This hotone seems similar?

Here's a big 3,000+ reverb IR collection of mine i have shared a few times all over the place so I will drop it here too. It's not ordered and probably a bit of duplicates and whatever, but hey it's free!

Looking at specs and options. Integral may still be better, hmm.

The thing I don't like about this is it's only 10 seconds in stereo and 20 seconds mono.

I am pretty sure tasty chips integral was 23 seconds stereo or mono

Also tasty chips you could have a huge usb stick filled with ir's to use anytime without any sort of limit... the hotone seem to have a limit.

Tasty chips integral also has reverse IR. I don't see that on this hotone.

It was only a matter of time until more of these came on the market. Looks cool, but I'm glad I got the IR thing out of my system. Give me an artesanal free-range algorithm any day.

Interesting logo, Meris Mercury 7 below for comparison:

I was always happy with Fractal reverbs and considered them and Eventide the best in class. That was until I got my hands on a Meris Mercury X. Now, I consider Fractal, Eventide, and Neunaber the best of the normal reverbs, but Meris is the king of seriously wild stuff.

Meris X is great indeed, but you can do quite a bit of what it can do with fractal as well. Use the modifiers with adsr, sequencers, lfo's etc..
