Line6 amp model defaults are not good. I don't know what the hell they are using to make them, but I have never heard anyone say that they were happy with the settings they load when you add an amp block and select a model.
It might be handy a list where the community shares their best defaults.

It likely wouldn't be. Guitar, playing style, tone preference, output system...all these play a big part so someone else's settings are likely not that great either.

Best is to figure out your favorite settings and save those.

True that, but it might still be better than the factory defaults, which are known for being bad 😅

This was true up until 3.x

The later updates, and their accompanying presets, have been very usable right out of the box

I think that's a fair perspective. It does force you to get in there and tweak. Not a bad thing though. There's a lot of useable range in the hx models so it pays off to get something right for yourself. Simple fact is - no default will work for everybody because everybody is not outputting hx the same way. Headphones, FR, studio monitors, tube amp fx return, whatever -- they all will behave differently.

Real talk. If the default settings are randomized somehow, peace. They're bad, but peace. But if a person--a person with real, functional, human ears--is deciding on these generally atrocious settings, they need to find a new job at L6. They're not good at this.

The Super Reverb *is* a new model.

Pretty much nothing. Obviously, I'm dialing in tonestacks all the time, though. Just as I would on real amps.

So maybe there is hope for the future of stock amps in Helix :)

I read your post wrong by the way. Thought you also had to tweak a lot with the new models

I honestly think the defaults are just fine starting points on pretty much all of the models I use.
They’re fine if you know what texture you’re going for and don’t mind dialing a few knobs. I don’t think there’s anything special in NDSP stuff that you can’t do anywhere else, but they are masters at satisfying plug and play presets.

Easy question, I think.

Would it be a bad idea to get myself wireless connection between guitar and HX stomp for home use? That cable that's get wrapped up all the time is such an annoyance.

I like the Lekato stuff for this purpose. @Alex Kenivel had a not-so-positive experience with the WS70. I’m not sure if other models exhibit less high end attenuation.

Has anybody found a way to perminately shut off window systems sounds?

Just insane sometimes... when i get a notification through my Stomp. I am so glad I never listen with really loud levels .. can't imagine BOOOOINGGGG to be super nice on those levels

I like the Lekato WS-50, and use the G10 and Nu-X B5RC
