Helix Talk

I got $650 for a well-worn LT and $800 for an equally abused but fully functional floor last year. Prices will probably keep sliding down as the Stadium gets more adoption.

Yeah I just bought one from a guitar shop second hand for £390. Trying to sell my LT with official back pack but not getting much interest even at £495.

I think Stomps will still have pretty strong resale value until a "stadium" stomp update comes out. At the minute there's still a strong demand for them, it's one of the reasons I sold mine while it was still worth a decent amount.

I hadn't used it in months and have helix native if I need helix sounds or fancy checking out any further updates which might happen to the OG units.

Also, they make up for a pretty decent "plain" MFX unit. Just the way I used mine for quite a while. Slapped some analog pedals and an Amplifirebox as a pedal platform in front (all controlled via some loopswitcher) and basically used it as a delay/verb (plus the odd other effect) unit. Was absolutely great. And fwiw, to this day, there's *very* little delay/verb units coming at that form factor. Most other contenders have a fixed signal flow or are way less flexible otherwise.

Agreed, they work great for that. If I was staying in the digital amps/pedals with a few analogue add ons I'd have kept mine. I wanted to use mine as a delay/reverb pedal with my amp but didn't like what it did to my core tone going into the front.

I'm sure this has to be some sort of bizarre coincidence (as it has happened -rarely- with other amps before) but for some reason, using my stomp with my Mark V seems to very frequently cause my Stomp to shirt the bed. For some reason it will randomly decide the FX loop send/return block is rendered useless and all the suddenly my tone is just guitar into power amp of the amp. When this occurs there is no fixing anything in real time on the stomp, the -only- solution is to reboot :wat (and not to be snarky, but this is a legitimate reason of why boot time matters. I've had to do this mid song mid gig before)

Corrupted preset? Is there a switch assigned to the HX S/R to engage/disengage it?

also befuddling that this -almost- seems to exclusively occur with my Mark V. Hasn't happened in months then last night I bust out the Mark V for my side project practice and it happens 3 times in the matter of 90 minutes :wat

not unless all my presets are corrupted. No switch assigned to that block
Well crap. Is the loop in the V wonky somehow? Oddly enough; the FX loop of my V was being weird Monday night. It didn't like the 2 button footswitch I was using in conjunction with just leaving the loop on on the amp.

I dunno, I'm an idiot and could be wrong but I can't really imagine how anything amp side would cause the stomp to crap out like that. Like its a legit glitch that can only be resolved by reboot :idk
