Helix Talk

I've been shooting some OG Helix vs Agoura amp on my Stadium floor, and i totally get the "feeling" thing people bring up when comparing the two.

Sonically, the new models are not miles ahead of HX (which were very good to begin with), it's like like a slightly higher res version of the same thing. They do feel very different to play thou, and Agoura reacts much better to things like picking dynamics and volume changes.
Exactly what I'm hoping for. Especially better volume rolloff with Marshall models

I kinda want to snag a cheap Stomp. Again.
That's what I did...

My AM4 is going on a board, with a few pedals. So if I got another stomp, it would be my man purse rig. I’ve got the POD express, but it’s a little too limiting for me.
I need to get a board to tidy up the rats nest of cables. Ideally would like decent power supply too but they're pretty pricey for ones that will power hx stomp at 1A and UA Golden at 400mA.

There's plenty of pretty inexpensive HB PSUs that will do that just fine once you grab a current doubler cable for the Stomp. And the bigger ones have a straight 3A outlet.

I have been (and still am) running my Stomp sucessfully with all of these:

All it might take in addition is a current doubler and HX barrel plug adapter. There's a combo solution from Voodoo Lab:

The straight 3A aren't isolated are they? They do seem decent value though, but will also require a plug converter as they seem to be European plugs.

Correct, but that seems to be absolutely fine in case you're running anything else from isolated outs. Besides, I usually run the Stomp through a current doubler on two isolated outs anyway.

Well, the larger ones feature an IEC input. Aren't these rather common over there by now? I mean, most amps have IEC inputs as well.

I made a short video visually demonstrating what the global EQ does and what happens when you use EQ blocks that cut the same frequencies, as well as in the IR block. It's only 3 minutes long. I hope you find it useful.

Short simple question: Which knobs do I need for the encoders? Any article numbers?
Note, not the pot, just the knob "cap".
Lost one from my Stomp for unknown reasons.
