Fractal Talk

If people could just move on when someone makes an asinine post to stir up shit instead of heading straight to the fire with their gas can, it would be a lot nicer environment.

That depends on where you live. It's cold and getting colder again, so personally my comfort level would really benefit from a raging inferno nearby. Bring on the gas cans!

I have wonderful advice for anyone, in any field, putting forth information only for the information to be dismissed, ignored, set aside, disregarded or tabled for another date-

Document it as an “I told you so” and move on with life.

We have zero control over how information will be received, nor do we know what else is involved with the information that may make someone’s acceptance of said information different than what we expect it to be. Even when it seems remarkably obvious on a personal level.

Learning this and adapting my daily life around knowing this was an actual game changer in my life. The amount of stress it removed while freeing up an immense amount of time to do shit I actually want to do was life changing. Even when I have to clean up the mess that would have been prevented by listening to me.

Unless someone’s life or safety is on the line, it’s not that important.
I was going to say something like this but didn’t want to pile on or be misunderstood.

Everyone’s lives and goals are moving at different speeds. When someone plants their feet down and wants to have a discussion or dissection of something it’s just not always the right time for whatever reason. Maybe it would have been different a week ago or next week. Just go with the flow. If it’s really important than go through offical channels.

Getting butthurt and throwing a tantrum only makes you look bad. No shade to NKP it’s just a universal thing

[re. "ungigable"] I don't think that's a reasonable conclusion. Earlier firmwares are rock solid and sound great. Pick one you like and rock out!
If I can still count, this FM9 page alone has now 5 users reporting their custom layouts got zapped. To me that is "ungigable" unless you have an A/B switch to your backup. We can hope it is related to CPU spikes, but it seems less likely to be than some other issues.

It is hopefully a coincidence, but we also see Neal Schon now uses the III instead of the FM9 [AFAIK], and Lifeson is not gigging the FM9 he used in London. Maybe you can spot other big names that switched from FM9 to III...? ("More is more" could be a reason too, of course)

I suspect this may be a quite old bug they may never find... OTOH, Cliff shared the new hire is smart, so he could make a big name for himself finding the cause ;)

Sure, you can stay with a version that seems solid -- you are right there.

Man the JVM models are gooooood.

Nice video!

I feel like every time I'm thinking of "Hey, I should buy a JVM! They're not that expensive" something like good captures or a video like this pops up and then I'm like "oh, the capture/AM4 model sounds pretty much the same as what my BluGuitar does! Saved some money!"

But part of me still wants one even though I know it's an amp that will look a bit dumb on top of my 4x10 because the head is like 10cm wider than my cab, weighs about 18x my BluGuitar and all I'd be really getting is individual channel EQ.

Sounds like an easy solution... get the matching Marshall 4x12 to go with it 😀
