I’m catching up on the thread. I run my JVM treble between 5-6 and presence rarely above 3. (Sometimes even lower) The amp gets crispy if you crank up too much treble/presence.

On the Axe I typically keep the treble around 7 and presence around 4-5, but I’ve never bothered to A/B them.

I was going to offer to send my JVM to Cliff, but it looks like he solved the Hardy Boy Mystery Of The JVM. Once the update is in an official release I can snap some clips of the amp vs model.

Side note: Accuracy is all that matters when your specific goal is to model real world gear, otherwise what’s the point? Original models exist for interpretation and “improvements”, see the awesome FAS amps. But, the goal of modeling should always be accuracy. That’s the entire point of all this.

Yep, modded amps shouldn’t be modeled at all. Further, you shouldn’t be able to switch tone stacks or adjust advanced amp properties not available on a physical amp. It isn’t accurate.

It’s odd that so many years were spent praising the industry leading modeling Cliff has done,. We now know it was inaccurate and so those people were mistaken. Me included.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. SAD!
