Fractal Talk

Is tonex or tonex one worth trying even if you have fractal?

I never tried a capturing device before, but seeing that these are pretty cheap, is it worth to add with my fm9?

I got the ToneX software when it first came out, used it for maybe 30 minutes before getting sick of hearing shitty captures and wading through captures of AxeFX amps. That was in the first week it was out, so obviously infancy stage and surely there’s a ton more captures available now. I’ve heard they’ve made software improvements but have not opened that plug-in since that first day.

The biggest thing that ran through my head that whole 30 minutes was “You could dial in whatever tone you want in 3 minutes on your Fractal, what are you doing right now?”

It's just a distraction.

If you want to play with captures. Download Tonocracy or the standalone NAM player nd load NAM files from Slammin Mofo or our own 2dor from the Tone3000 website.

It's still a distraction, but all of the above are free.

Lol yes I know but combining your favorite chorus and pitch block and delay block or any other combo into one COMBO block could save signal path space, and maybe if done correctly it could cut down on CPU since it's all in one block and not 3 blocks taking up space?

I came to my senses and realized why the heck am I even thinking of captures and what not when I have barely scratched 2% of what amps/cabs fractal has to offer among other things in it since I'm still new to fractal land... So excuse my stupidity or stupid G.A.S. trying to come out (pun intended).

EDIT: Well unless I find a tonex one for like $100 or less then I may pick it up to try lol.

This is so true. The foot switching power gets so overlooked when debating modelers. And it’s such a critical thing for working musicians who play live and aren’t just bedroom warriors.

That was ultimately what steered me to fractal vs the competition

I still got a lot to learn when it comes to different footswitches and layouts more then what I already learned or done and know. I've been to busy playing and making blocks and messing with things that I never find the time to learn more about footswitch options or learn the front panel better compared to using editor etc.. BUT that stuff will come I am sure the more I keep using it.
