Fractal Talk

Welp all this vp4 talk and finally a fm3 shows up in my area (which never happens). It's a sign. Gonna take the plunge since I want amps.

Quick question, is there a hardware test mode like the Helix that shows what's working?

REALLY???

In the Blocks Guide, it shows the FM9 able to use 2 instances of the Multitap Delay, but it can only run 1.

Oops.

Vp4 can run 2.

:sofa

Meanwhile on my mx5 I can run like 4 delays and 4 reverbs simultaneously

I am excited for Met's inevitable love affair with the FM3. :banana

It's a Pandora's Box.... but with only good things inside.

Been perfect for me. If it sees 2025 in Met-landia I will be stoked. :beer

Now that it’s got gapless switching I really think it’s gonna be the goldilocks Fractal for me.

The only reason I avoided it in the past was the gap when switching channels on the amp block

VP4 has a few blocks that it can run more instances of than the other products. 4 Chorus's for example, compared to 2 in all 3 of the others.
2 Pitch Blocks (which can be a big deal) vs. 1 in the FM9.
Flanger & Enhancer also 4 vs. 2 in the III.

And others.

I need a solid-er solution for putting the Axe3 on top of an amp, and then a laptop on top of it.

I have a 4U Sub-Zero rack, but it has a handle on top, so laptop can't sit on top of it. Also the feet aren't tall enough for it to sit snugly on top of my Mark V coz of the Mark V's handle - it definitely doesn't compress low enough.

Don't want to spend a shit ton of money, especially on a case that won't sit nicely on top of any amp.

I'm probably overthinking it and I should just get some bigger feet and some side handles for my existing case, but any ideas?

Currently I'm slumming it like this:

But that obviously blows chunks.

How about the rack case, but you buy a laptop stand where you could slip the stand feet under or around the rack handle? Then maybe taller feet for the rack case.

Need a solution that is quick to setup at a rehearsal or gig too, mind you. This isn't just for home use.

What about a 3 space deep enough that the amp sits on top?
