Fractal ICONS Plugin

I haven't watched the video yet but with my Silver Sky on the neck pickup, the FAS DR breaks up around 3 (Vibrato channel) which I don't love. Not sure if that's accurate
You can use the Input trim parameter in expert amp settings (if the Icons plugin has them) to adjust this if you want.

If you had watched the video, they showed how one of the amps started breaking up at 2 and the other at 4. With pots potentially having 5-20% differences in value, this is not unusual.

Yup! I ended up watching the video 😀

My experience with FAS was more aligned with Amp B, I think.

Do you know how many times I've fired up a Fractal device, and thought there was some seriously wrong shit going on with the hardware, only to find out somehow it got put on the goddamned Pignose cab?!

I swear you guys put that on there to troll us. :rofl

On the flip side, I've also managed to dial in some pretty great sounding presets assuming I already changed the cab block, only to find that damn Pignose IR in loaded up. Pretty sure I have a couple saved now.

I’m only partially serious; I love dialing in weird tones for texture. The Pignose is an obvious go-to for weird stuff.

For Fractal veterans, the small Pignose cab (and its predecessors) is a secret weapon to add 'woody' body to the sound, making it feel more solid and let it cut through the mix, because of all the mids it adds.

Add it as an additional IR and increase its level until you reach the desired result.

These days you can achieve similar results through other methods.

So they will have an axe fx 3 for free in the end as is is already pirated .. if I was fractal, I won’t release any others amps plugins seing that, until I find something that make my software protected . You will tell me that nothing cannot be cracked , but … well. what a world ….

Well, not quite. I feel for fractal but it's not like they are the first company to get their plugin cracked. I imagine Helix Native has been cracked for years now, for example. That doesn't stop them from selling HX Stomps or other hardware at a good rate.

I don't think this should stop them from continuing their ICON releases but at the same time I'd understand if they did halt it.

Eh, c'mon. It's the internet. Do you really think if everybody holds still and keeps really, really quiet, it will just go away?
Of course not.

I think you missed the point of why I quoted two of his posts.
On the one hand he's trumpeting the fact (on two forums) and on the other stating "not sure how widespread it is...but won't be long, I'd assume".

Hey there's a bunch of coke with $100 bills being handed out down on tenth st, but don't tell anybody else. :stirthepot

Also trying the trial today. Sounds amazing. Does it actually zero latency? It is not returning any latency at all on Fender Studio Pro 8.

There's always latency. But it seems pretty darn good. I'm just having issues with adding a new instance of ICONS to another track making the overall latency jump up significantly. The buffer size in my DAW doesn't change though. But when I do change the buffer up or down it returns to normal again. Frustrating and not sure if it's my Motu M4 when working with the plugin or something else. I'm using Studio Pro 8 too. Think when I'm able to later today I'll try it with another interface to see what happens.

Same latency bug here. Mine is when I change the DI on the input tab and hit play. Changing buffer also returns to normal.

It could be Studio Pro 8 then. Are you able to check on another DAW, or a previous version of Studio One? Hopefully tonight I can check.
