Highly recommend reapertips theme to take stock win95 graphics to something that looks like studio one

Reapertips Theme
This REAPER theme is a modification of the default REAPER 6 theme. It features many contrast and visibility improvements, making it very cohesive and easy on the eyes, while still looking and functioning like REAPER.www.reapertips.com
āIs the theme free?
It can be free! You just need to enter $0 when prompted to set a price.ā
This is actually incorrect.
Logic adds extra latency, because any time you open it your ears have to travel down to your ass, crawl right up inside it, lick the back of your eyeballs, and then back again.
All the other DAW's just let your ears do their thing.
It's definitely too pricy imo, so I'll wait til they have a sale for sureI tried it and it's quite nice. Cool and interesting presets.
But is it 200ā¬-good for me? Never.
I guess 120 would have been my barrier.
To be fair it's 169⬠and 136⬠if you are a returning customer. Still expensive yes but just sayingI tried it and it's quite nice. Cool and interesting presets.

Thereās things I like about all of those plugins, but the NDSP plugins sound noticeably better to me across the board. Usually theyāre nicer to use too. The others sound a bit more dated modelling wise, for want of a better description and often are more clunky to useNot really better than Helix Native, Amplitube, or S-Gear.
Iāve tried amplitube multiple times, I just donāt like it. HX Native is very good, and you can likely match any sound with enough patience and know how, but NDSP plugins have always sounded great for whatever they were going for, out of the boxThereās things I like about all of those plugins, but the NDSP plugins sound noticeably better to me across the board. It's true that HXN and S-Gear are more dated, but they're also much more versatile than a single NDSP plugin is. Amplitube is both dated and modern, as it depends on which model you're talking about. And it's even more versatile. NDSP is fine, it's just a shit value for $150-$200.Thereās things I like about all of those plugins, but the NDSP plugins sound noticeably better to me across the board. Knobcloud (SFW) is also great for buying 2nd hand licencesJust FYI if anyone has a FB - the NDSP plugin marketplace is the way to go when there isnāt a sale. All those $150 plugins can be had between $70-$90 depending on the plugin
Knobcloud is a crazy name, and I'm not even English.Knobcloud (SFW) is also great for buying 2nd hand licences
Yeah for sure. And NAM loading will be cool.S-Gear is a sleeper and continues to get updates... and the latest newsletter said a NAM loader will be coming =)
I like S-Gear but I prefer amp models that are 1:1 to HW rather than hybrid/unique amps. The ones in there are cool but not really amps Iād go for in real life. The FX are more serviceable than good IMO, and thereās not a ton. Add to that the UI is straight outta 2003 and has loads of little areas to click. Itās not really a slick thing to use in 2025.Knobcloud is a crazy name, and I'm not even English.
Also yes, S-Gear has always had that magic sauce to it. Crazy how long it has remained competitive in the landscape.
