Guess I'll finally have to plug my VP4 into the old computerino
 
Well, looks like I gotta start reading the manual on the VP4 to understand the MIDI side of things better as mine will be here in a couple days! Hahahah I spent 6 months debating which pedals to buy and then about 30 seconds changing my mind to a VP4 and buying one.

I’m hoping I can just grab a Morningstar ML10 loop switcher and use the VP4 as a controller for the whole rig. I know the VP4 was only sending PC’s on Preset changes originally but it’s been updated since then, I gotta do some quick reading to hear what the Morningstar needs to select/deselect loops. If I can skip out on the MC6, all the better.

Now I just need to put some thought into handling both amps without effects loops and amps with, as I’ll be using it in both situations. American Loopers makes a pedal order switcher specifically for swapping between a loop and the front of the amp, which is probably how I’ll handle it.

Here’s my one attempt at getting the functionality added-

Cliff, I betcha can’t add enough MIDI functionality to the VP4 to make it work as a controller for a Morningstar loop switcher!

The MC’s are cheap as hell, so it’s not a huge dealbreaker, I’d just prefer to use the real estate for something else. One thing I won’t do is cry about it incessantly, ad nauseam, across multiple forums while doubting Fractal’s ability to deliver. I’m starting to get a bit irked by those who go about feature requests/improvements that way.

I mean maybe you'll be happy with what you can do on preset and scene changes with MIDI messages. But I suspect you'll want more control.

did you get your vp4? thoughts? midi working for you?
 
Yeah, tomorrow is the start of week 3 since I ordered it and at best I can expect to wait until around Friday for Reverb's intervention on the matter. I might just buy a new one from Fractal, I was saving $100 buying it used but it's definitely not fucking worth this bullshit.
