Fractal Audio Systems VP4 - Virtual Pedalboard

Quick question about Gig Mode:

If I'm trying to switch to Scenes from Preset mode, when I press switches 1+2 together and get the screen that shows the flashing "Presets-Scenes-Effects-Tuner "options, it only shows those flashing options for a split second and then defaults back to the preset I am on, with no time to select anything. However, if I then press 1+2 a second time, the flashing options will keep flashing until I select one of the options.

Is this normal? It's barely enough time to select Scenes before it quickly goes back to the preset and is super annoying at gigs.

Thanks.

Nope, that’s not normal. Maybe a stuck switch. Ask Support.

Thanks. I guess it would be an issue with switch 2?

I am just about to hit the one year mark since buying it, so should be under warranty. (Has been happening for a while, though.)

Really don’t want to deal with shipping it back, etc. :(

I had a thought and haven't yet thought this through super deep:

Is it possible to run a different mono signal to L and R inputs in stereo mode and then route those signals to e.g. two different reverb or delay blocks that are routed in parallel? And thus have a dedicated effect for each signal.

This could work in some situations in my setup to basically have two signal paths

It doesn't seem like Axe IV would be a "reason" to move to Shopify as he said. Maybe I'm wrong. But it feels like it's more related to something with the buying experience.

Maybe they're announcing direct sales in more regions. Shopify does make international sales way more easy.

Yeah that's what I expect as well.

I'm up for anything that helps push Fractal prices down in the EU. They are a tough sell when a QC is 200 € more than a FM3, and a FM9 is 770 € more than the QC. I picked the QC here only because its pricing is in line with other current flagship modelers, Line6 Helix is way less.

Ok, I figured it out. I'm trying to go to Scenes mode too early and not letting the preset finish loading. If I wait for it to load (indicated by seeing the individual effects and not just scene names), it works as it should.

To be honest though, I'm surprised it takes so long for a preset to load. It's not crazy long, but also not instant, and is long enough to feel a little extra in a face-paced live setting. I think I'm going to just go up/down through presets by long-holding switch 1 or 4, seems faster and it just stays in Scenes mode.

Should take about 2 or 3 seconds to load a preset due to "Saving..." at the top left of the screen.

If I'm understanding what you're saying, I think there's maybe some confusion between what's shown on the screen of the VP4 and what happens when you hit switches. The screen display times can be configured (and by default feel a little too liberally sticky to me). But I can press the switches as fast as my feet can and the changes take place at that speed.

Are you connected to USB and the editor when it's feeling laggy?

Thanks. I sent a video to support and Mark confirmed it’s working like it should? Does seem slow, though.
