Fractal Audio Systems VP4 - Virtual Pedalboard

Thanks :] I had a feeling it wouldn't for some blocks, but with all the options it has and lfo's/modifiers etc.. Seems like it would be better option then going back to H90, although I did love H90 as I had 3 of them at one point lol

You don't need 4 pitch blocks btw. 1 Pitch block itself has so many algorithms within it:
  • dvanced Whammy
  • Arpeggiator
  • Classic Whammy
  • Crystal Echoes
  • Custom Shifter
  • Dual Chromatic
  • Dual Detune
  • Dual Detune Delay
  • Dual Diatonic
  • Octave Divider
  • Quad Chromatic
  • Quad Chromatic Delay
  • Quad Detune
  • Quad Diatonic
  • Quad Diatonic Delay
  • Virtual Capo

Any of the quad modes gives you a way to pitch your signal 4 ways.

Are the pitch stuff on par with eventide H90 or better? That is one thing I loved about H90 was the pitch / delay / reverbs. I do NOT care for the pitch stuff in my helix.

sorry still reading on this unit, but that also means in one pitch block I can recall 4 different versions at anytime right? Same with any other block?

Really what I want to see from Fractal next is more glitchy/granular/fuck-shit-up effects

I was going to ask this next, is there any of that fuck shit up effects like chase bliss stuff (but im assuming with lfo/modifier stuff it can do crazy?), and ugh I see only 1 synth thing and I am assuming mono right? It's 2025, and if eventide, meris, boss and even mooer can do polyphony stuff than why aren't we seeing fractal, helix doing this stuff yet geez!

We need a Slicer in the Fractal family. I know there's a sequencer and it will do all sorts of stuff but it is a tedious programming job. There needs to be a random button in the sequencer interface. Hit it and watch the sliders do something i.e transport themselves to various levels. Instead of me doing it one by one. :facepalm

And as for guitar synths in 2025? Come on Boss...release an SY800 already.

I don't see sy-800 until maybe 2026 / 2027. I mean they just put out gm-800 and vg-800 not even within 2 yrs time! That is like a record with boss lol. Usually it's 5 years or more lol.

Speaking of Boss though.... This VP4 looks like a boss design haha.

Back on track with VP4, so this sequencer, can it be applied to any effects and can you add lfo/modifers too it as well or whatever? Sorry I am new to fractal, never had a product by them until this shows up.

Fractal effects definitely rank in that Eventide echelon, it will be down to personal preferences IMHO.

I do find Helix pitch effects to be really really good though. Poly Capo alone is worth the price of admission.

The sequencer UI from the FM9. I didn't set those levels BTW. I employed a trained monkey to do it for me. I sit on one chair mindlessly noodling and my chimp Barney sits on another setting sequencer levels. Has cost me a fortune in bananas so far.

And I use the bit reduce and sample rate controls in the Drive effects section all the time. Very cool.

And this guy https://simeonharris.co.uk/fractal.html is a monster programmer.
