Fender Rumble 100 for "FRFR"?

Who said I distrust flow charts in general?

I brought this up because I thought this could be a decent combo for an "FRFR" project.

Ahh shit! Good point....I tried The older pre GT version of the Fender mustang, and 100 watts at 8ohms thru the FX loop it is pretty awesome with the F12, but those amps are notorius for having scratchy death master volume pots. Also its open back...I'm also considering the Katana 100 and Catalyst. The thing I really like about the rumble is the size and closed back

Dunno about the Catalyst just because I've never played one, but the Katana MK2 head works nicely as a no-frills solid-state power amp for me, especially considering the pretty good used prices.

There's a Rumble 100 on Facebook Marketplace for 200 bucks here, I wonder if I should chance it...I'm not worried about the HPF, but I am worried what that undefeatable compressor or limiter thing might do

katana artist Mkii combo is pretty good if you can find a used one at reasonable price. Sounds good as a regular amp too.
I just use it with the stock speaker but I have the F12 and have no reason to think it wouldn’t be well presented in that amp

Any idea if the MKI would be much different? I see that the fx returns go thru the FX system, but hopefully all of that can be completely bypassed

Not sure about the other versions. The artist Mkii has two different ways to insert external signal to power amp. One is effects return, other is power amp input. Depending on which modeler I use I choose so I can include or exclude the built in effects. The Boss effects are quite good so that’s a plus and the Artist has the ability to save a couple presets with different effects and their on/off status. So if I send a UA pedal, which is amp only, I might prefer the effects return where as if I send an Fractal FM9 I just want power amp in since the FM9 has great effects and presets galore.

The F12 doesn’t work well in just anything regardless of the marketing. I would just go and get a high quality fr fr monitor. I have f12s in Xitone passive wedges with a GT 100fx2u power amp and it is very good but I tried the speakers in a few cabs and wasn’t happy with the results.

If anyone is looking at getting a Xitone, buy used. There are tons of threads on the Fractal forum about unfulfilled orders and bullshit excuses. One guy over there has been waiting for more than two years for a powered wedge.

Totally , don't order anything from him. Shame because the products are very good.

Oh hell no, 500 bucks for passive wedges? Those aren't even sized or featured properly for the F12 spec, the Rumble would definitely be an improvement. Might be better than an open back like the Mustangs though. Here in Hawaii I had wedges built to the specs Celestion made for the F12 series for 250 bucks!

But in this case, I want something smaller and simpler to carry around for shows

I have a Rumble 100v3 combo, and I have used it with my helix, it will do in a pinch, and it’s a decent Bass amp (and very light). I have not used the line out, but I would expect the cab sim is on it. $200 is probably a fair price.

I need to grab one of those Rumble’s for a living room bass amp. I got one for one of my employees last year when he wanted to learn how to play bass, I figured for the price/size it wasn’t going to do much and cranked it up when I first took it out of the box, I slapped the low C on my Spector and almost blew backwards like Back To The Future. Absolutely could not believe how loud and powerful that little fucker was.

They are amazing little amps, but you have to be careful not to drive them too hard. My old bass player had a Sunmachine Fuzz O))) and if he played it through the Rumble 100 for too long it would start to smoke and smell like a chemical fire.
