I/we love skiing but this season has been underwhelming here

Too hot, too many bad weather weekends, not very much snow.

Shame… though, you’re kinda in the vicinity of some of the world’s best resorts aren’t you? I guess you mean locally, nearby places right?

In around 3 hours I can be in the Dolomiti are, a place that is are awesome as expensive all year round. Never been there for skiing with the kids so far, I wait for all of them being old enough to fully enjoy the place.

We ski in some resorts at lower altitude (a bad thing it is what it is) within 1 hour drive (a really good thing!)

Kinda the same here I live quite near the big resorts in scandinavia, 3-4 hours by car. But so far we’ve been happy with the small places in nearby, and it’s much cheaper. A season pass for my family of 4 is just 500 euro, and it’s just a short drive.

In my region skiing is free for under under 8, 10€/day for 8-18 yo, 44 full day for adults in high season.

Very competitive for families with kids like us. I love it.

Lovely landscape.

No mountains over here at all, all flat. No snow, either, not even one single day with sledging on some mini-hills all throughout the winter. Guess I need to get used to it, I don't think regular snowy winters will ever come back in this area.

Here’s for you then This was yesterday.. I was last one down so I took the opportunity to record when no one was watching
I looks slower than it was!!! Or that’s my excuse for being careful on jumps

Anyway, it’s all melting snow so it’s kinda slushy and soft, not ideal conditions. But it was a good day.

I see lots of off track and jump opportunities there when there's enough snow.

When I was a teenager I was all about jumps, off tracks and risky stuff and me and my brother used to ski full day non stop, with a sandwitch in a pocket, somenthing to drink and some chocolate.
So much fun.
I really love skiing and mountains.

It’s great fun and even if I’m very careful, i learned last year that even if being careful and going slow, a little fall can break something

Fell forward last year on my chest and broke a rib, the lowest rib. Nothing to do about that, but damn it took 5-6 months to heal .
