LMAO I don't think there's one guy there that is happy with anything they've done in the last 15 years.
Ironically, I came to the thread last night to post that I just missed seeing them for the first time ever when they were in my area. We had a death in the family last weekend and I waited til all details were planned and when I checked early this week, it was sold out so I missed them for the first time ever. After reading the first 3 pages of this thread, I'm expecting more replies about how I didn't really miss anything.

Sorry about that happening for you and your family; i too was hoping to see them this time around but have been unemployed since July and then had a crazy surgery in January that left an open wound on my back that required daily re-dressing, which is now every other day, and is finally almost closed and fully healed. Weird shit!
I do really like the new album; the songs feel like old friends already and it seems to fly by pretty quickly when i can listen all the way through. Could do without the strange subject matter and cringeworthy lyrics of Dead Asleep, but otherwise it's really enjoyable.
I LOVE it! Once I heard the initial releases in context, they sounded much better to me. I bought the deluxe CD w/ booklet, and listen to the whole thing probably 4x's a week. Same as how I've done most of their albums. Except TA, which maybe someday I'll try again.
Not sure if they go together, and wouldn't want to find out they don't, at a DT show I've been looking forward to for over a year!
So the homeowners came by today before I rolled out early to get ready for tonight, and she's hip to Pink Floyd & Dream Theater, wishing me a good time, etc.
Just before I leave she asks if there will be good visuals on screens, as she puts her thumb & forefinger together to her mouth... Puff-puff-give...
We laugh, but I say no, that's not really my thing. But it did remind me (and I told her too; nice working for cool owners) that I do indeed have something else still stashed away for "enhancement" purposes!
So this'll will actually be my first time eatin shrooms at a show. Wondering if I should bring some edibles too...
James was great at the show on Tuesday. There were a few notes from earlier songs that he didn’t even try to hit, as well as some changes to others. But overall, he did a damn good job for a live show.
