I’ll go there… Horse meat is a terrible name especially in America. We love horses here.

But the dirty little secret is that the French love horse meat, stemming from World War I and World War II where protein was in short supply.

Unfortunately old horse stock is still slaughtered in this country (rather secretly) and shipped off to the domestic French food industry.

Just a terrible name imo.
