Here we are ladies and germs, time for the rilly big shew part two to begin.
  • This is Week One (yes it's not May quite yet, but consider this a bonus head start...)
  • 8 "weeks" running from the beginning of May to the end of June 2023
  • Similar submission rules to Season One
  • All submissions equal 1 point.
  • Points will be tallied and listed at the end of each week.
  • Overall, the point system is to act as a marker for your consistency.
  • The challenge is to push yourself to do a little more than your normal thing, some of you will have to learn how to use a DAW, some of you will have to look at less porn and play more guitar, some are going to have to feel some kind of 'structure' to remain consistent.
  • Week One Ends at Midnight CST, Saturday May 6th. Week Two begins a minute later, regardless of when the Week Two thread begins.

  • Whoever has the most points at the end will get crowned the :rawk TGF Do Something Season Two CHAMPION! :rawk

  • BoNuS BaNdMaTe ChAlLeNgE: Collaborate with another forum member on a song and get a :headbang Whoever has the most :headbangat the end of this season will be declared the TGF Do Something Season Two BANDMATE CHAMPION!

Ties will not be broken - so don't even tie... errr... try.

If you're one of the wieners, you can screenshot it and send it to your wife, husband, best friends, random people on Twitter, wherever you want. Or, if someone has something they would like to submit to a winner; a pack of strings, some picks, a Barbie that's missing an arm and has no clothes, a power supply, a pedal you don't use anymore but it's not worth selling, anything except items that contained bodily fluids, feel free to submit it.

Thank you all who are going to take part in this! And thanks to everyone who took part in Season One.

Alright, so trying something a bit different. Stuff I've been working on the last few weeks, sorta ambient/soundscape thing. You could sleep to these lol.
6 tracks, the last 2 have some older parts but I went through and added some things. Just drafts and I'm sure I'll remix again and adjust overall levels. No guitars in these...

Your production sounds really pro!

I almost called this Roberto Duran because I don't have the strength to mix it (properly) any further.

There is a special place in hell for SoundCloud and the damage it does to the sound quality,

Season two, lets go.

Tasty! Sounds great here. Well done. :beer

My head hears Chino Moreno whispering/wailing over that.

Sounds great! What's your guitar(s) signal chain?

Well played, great sounds (absolutely digging your cleans).

Thanks man!

Les Paul hard panned left and right, RG down the center. P-Bass.

All plugs. Fortin Cali for the distorted stuff, SLO for the clean stuff, Darkglass Ultra for the bass, and GetGood Modern and Massive for drums.
Just the tip:
If you copy your bass DI track on a second track and load the same Plugin but turn down bass eq and low mid eq, and add some grit with the gain knob and some hi eq then blend this track a bit lower in the mix. This will make the bass sound big and pop out more in the mix.
I think you make cool songs, keep it up!

Do you normally double bass in this manner?

I always struggle with bass, as a non-bass player. (New appreciation for bass) I always feel like the bass sounds to plucky, like there is too much pick attack bleeding in to the track, so I end up tracking it with less energy and aggression so it doesn’t sound too plucky. (Which probably makes it too non-distinct and muddy)
