Captures/profiles, for me; are ultimately a useless diversion. NTTAWWT

This may be the most anti-TGF attitude, but I found picking and sticking with a modeling platform and even sticking with mostly one amp on that platform to be the most freeing experience I’ve had in the last 20 years of modeler use. No diversions here.
That's how I feel with a guitar amp and loadbox :rofl

Nah, but seriously, the gear is half the fun. I like trying out various different bits and bobs.

That's pretty much what I've done. I've been using Fractal gear for the last ten years.

I have five basic presets on my FM9 and have only changed the amps on one of them once.

I spend the vast majority of my time with it playing music, not futzing around.

It is rare to find someone who is both a great engineer / producer, and also develops their instrument to a high level AND has the ability to write.

There is lots of "original" music with high production value where the people can barely play or write anything. It ends up sounding like a boring collection of sample loops. A copy of a copy of a copy that doesn't have a creative spark to fill the void.

And their parents told them they were special and wonderful, so they don't see the problem with the dreck they are producing. At least in my generation, if you didnt have anything to say on your instrument, you couldn't post your junk online and get curious clicks from your facebook and forum friends. If you sucked, that was pretty much the end of it. Now, oh no. You get to play act as a musician. And of course it is the trust fund kids who don't have a care in the world who get to do this.

You sound like an ass

Inb4 you think it's you being edgy and hard....or "telling it like it is"

Edit: hey I was close enough

Nope. Having grown up in the 70/80s I've seen the absolute regression of music. 99% of the people who are posting stuff don't even have an idea how bad it is (probably because Ed Sheeran is the high mark for the current generation.) And its only the rich kids now who have time to pursue it. So they don't have any real life experience or emotional depth. Lets call a spade a spade.

Music is easier than ever to get into. There should be absolutely zero reason for someone to gatekeep (which is what you are doing).

And trust fund kids? You can go buy a Epiphone or Squire, an audio interface, headphones/speakers, and a NDSP plugin or Helix native and you have essentially pro audio at your fingertips. That might cost what, $600 total? Some trust fund.

Go gamble your funds on more Internet casinos 🤣 you'll surely hit those 777s soon

Its not the cost of the gear. Its the ability to be absolutely horrible at something and pursue it for years of your life without having to worry about where your next meal is coming from.

The price of the instruments has nothing to do with it.

I play Squiers and Epiphones lol
I use them for my own enjoyment.
Why worry about what others are doing?
