Captures/profiles are definitely not for me either. For one I have some, uh, unique instrument and tuning choices that don’t really coincide with most people’s tonal choices. For two, I like setting things how I hear them. Not working backwards from where someone else hears things.

I have had great experiences with capture technology, but Im only using it to capture my own amps. It works so well for that. I also find direct captures are substantially more flexible than captures that include the cab. I’ll only capture the cab if I’m looking for something extremely specific.

Captures always sound good in theory. But then when you want to change the EQ (and have it interact like the real amp) that's where it loses me. I already think I menu dive too much but imo capture hunting is potentially worse
