I have to disagree on the gold hardware. To me it’s perfect on this guitar.

I wonder how long I’ll have to wait to snag one of these bodies from The Stratosphere…

Looks pretty nice here. I think a brown tortoise pickguard might've looked pretty cool with this too.

I don't hate it, and hopefully some Bruno Mars fans will be stoked to pick one up and play. I think I like the black guard better, but I am biased - does it come with two pickguards?

It's kind of a neat guitar but does it really have anything to do with Bruno Mars or are they just licensing his name for sales?

At least based on the video above it seems that Bruno had plenty of input on how he wanted it to be. He seems to play a variety of instruments for songwriting even though he just seems to sing live.

It does seem a bit niche at the price and might have been better off as a upscale MIM model like e.g Jason Isbell Tele, but maybe it will find its fans. It's certainly got a vibe to it that even if you don't care about Bruno Mars, it might appeal.

All I know is that Uptown Funk with Mark Ronson is a banger and I like some of Mars' other songs but wouldn't exactly call myself a fan.

I dig it, but I guess we are in the realm of making overpriced signature guitars for non-guitarists now :pitchforks

He plays. From what I’ve heard he plays every instrument and is basically a modern day Prince….which is why this vid is probably the most appropriate for this thread.

(First soloing is around 5:55 then again at the end. Dude ain’t playin’ Vai tunes, but he’s competent and I’m assuming rhythm is more his thing than leads)

Everyone thought Post Malone was a giant turd posing with a guitar, too-

I stand corrected then. Anyone that saw Post Malone play his Nirvana Tribute during Covid knew he was a player. Also before he sang and wrote pop songs, I think he played guitar in a metal band in HS, moved to LA to make it big and got in with the Hip Hop crowd being a DJ.
