The IR loading in BTS still sucks. As far I can tell it’s one at a time and it doesn’t automatically pull a name so you have to rename the slot every time you add an IR.Fwiw, I just noticed that there's a new BTS version allowing you to directly load IRs without using the extra application.
BTS still sucks incredibly big time. Just look here, this is what the encoder assingments say inside BTS:

And here's what they're actually doing on the hardware:

So, out of 6 encoders, BTS is getting 5 wrong. This isn't reading out the actual hardware settings but close to guesswork.
And oh yes, even if these are no settings that can be saved (they're always global), I resaved patches until there's no tommorow. Stil the same.
Seriously, the time to program the IR update, while useful in case you're using IRs, should've better been spent to actually come up with some *decent* improvements.

Gonna ask this again because Boss manuals are kinda shit for details and apparently nobody that demos these things has never been on a dark stage. I would like to see the patch button lights even for presets I’m not actively using. Is that possible?
The current presets led isn't the one you want to change. If you're on preset 1 and CURNUM is tap tempo - you want to set NUM2-5 to OFF colors of your chioce. this works, BUT you can't do it globaly. You will need to set it at every preset.Seen it, doing it that way doesn’t work in the preset buttons as far as I can figure out and when you change it from auto you don’t get the flashing tap tempo if it’s set up for CURNUM tap. I want to assign a color to the presets and have them always visible for the bank I’m on. If that’s not possible that’s a big fucking doodoo from Boss.
Better to buy Sonicake plastic toppers. Just took 20 for 6 euros in china. Device have led lights, so you can customize the colors + toppers are transparent (w/ kind of glitters inside) so it will "light". Much more handy than to have fixed colors.Buy colored switch toppers.
Well that’s pretty stupid. The current presets led isn't the one you want to change. If you're on preset 1 and CURNUM is tap tempo - you want to set NUM2-5 to OFF colors of your chioce. this works, BUT you can't do it globaly. You will need to set it at every preset.
This is also pretty stupid. Good thing I like what I’m getting out of it otherwise this would probably be enough for me to send another device back. Really bad implementation IMO.I don't think there's a "dimmed when inactive" LED option.
I’ve been strictly Helix since 2016, so some of this is new in regards to thoughtless implementation, lol. Unfortunately for me I actually like playing through it and the CTRL triggers and the fact I can have a sweeping pitch shift without clearing everything else off a DSP line are worth it for me.Some of y'all act like you never got frustrated by a Boss turd before and it shows.

Sorry; long line of Boss PTSD over hereI’ve been strictly Helix since 2016, so some of this is new in regards to thoughtless implementation, lol. In daylight you can see all the switches, lol. Maybe 5% of shows I’ll play are going to be daylight conditions. I need to see where the pedal is in the dark.Well, still not as bad as the HX units. Their LEDs and screens just become literally invisible under critical lightning conditions (especially under diffuse daylight). In fact one of the main reasons I sold the Floor, because I was running into that issue quite sometimes.

The switches being hard to see and the programming of the pedal modes are two different problems. If I were to set my 1-5 switches to globally go to present 1-5, why in the hell would I want to have to program the colors for each off state in each preset. Doesn’t make any sense.Well, I need to see which of my switches are active. The Floor failed at that. And I don't think I ever had to operate a switch in complete pitch black darkness.
