Behringer Klone

No idea whether it's close enough to a real Centaur, but the Soul Food is an excellent pedal. Just that it doesn't fit into your uber arrogant rating of pretty much all things doesn't mean anything.
Thanks for saying it out loud. 🤟

To be fair, I believe it's a legit hobby to only buy/use expensive cork-sniffer's gear, but badmouthing cheaper stuff sucks, especially when there's a lot of good things out there in the "affordable" section. Let folks enjoy that. 😊

It might be a way to justify forking out wads of cash and trying to avoid the cognitive dissonance though.

Yay science! 😎

Does it have the feel and interactivity of a real one ? This is the part that you really only get from trying it. The only clone I think has this is the Centura but I haven’t tried this one yet. Even the KTR is lacking.
If you can find one, try the Mojopedals Klone. It has 90% of the chewy responsiveness of the original. I don't want to add to the hype but nothing I have tried captures this 100%. The KTR is close but still missing something.

Here’s an inside picture .

Agree to disagree on that one. I have the Soul Food. There are a couple of settings on it that I really like. I guess it depends on what tones your are looking for or use. I don't know that I can say it sounds just like a Klon but I didn't buy it for that. I bought it just to check it out and found some tones in it that I really like.
Yeah I agree with you the Soul Food is a excellent pedal and can sound even better when modded 🤘

The Soul Food IS garbage. The Klon would never have its reputation if it was like practically all of the clones . It has an extra dimension that is why it stood out in the first place. The point of a copy that misses the THE most important part of the original is what exactly?

What’s the point in reviewing stuff if you have no reference point and you say every cheap shit thing is good and actually good stuff which you have no experience with isn’t. You might as well ask the cat.
It sells as a Klon clone but only to people who have no clue as to what that actually feels like because as a copy it pathetic (and not much better as anything else.)

I think you should enjoy your highly prized vintage gear and let the rest of us dream. Remember, you know what we are missing, we don't.
So, no reference in print is going to instill the experience you get using it. This leaves you, perceived, as the old man screaming, get off my lawn.
No disrespect intended.
All electronics from that vintage era have components with much looser specs than what available today. This lends itself to the "no 2 sound a like" reality, same with old amps.

Guys, did you know that Behringer spelled in English is Peavey?
I think the perception of Peavey depends on how old you are. I grew up in the 80s/90s and Peavey was pretty great. Back then, you could buy something like a Peavey VTM and have a killer amp with Jose style mods, loop etc for a reasonable price. Made in USA and bulletproof too. So they made my early years a lot easier.
