9 Mode Preamp Pedal - see photo for amp models and videos. The PIR!

Whelp, got the mini-amp in. It’s a complete POS. So go ahead and flame me. I deserve it. Going to my poor nephew.

Hopefully the delay and reverb are digital and fare better. @EOengineer was right, I need to be saved from Temu , Ali-Express and Ali-Baba!

I think this mini-amp might just be the ticket to that end. Good thing it was so cheap. Has to be in my top ten of all time crappiest pedals. But it does look kinda cool in its own weird way. But you guys were absolutely right on this one, not gonna lie.
It brings me no joy, sorry that this didn’t work out. Thanks for taking one for the team - it had an equal chance of being awesome. You just never know until you’re running things in your environment.

Buy 75 times, cry 75 times.
:rollsafe
That 76th buy though….thats gonna be the one that makes it all worth it.

Not to hijack this thread but do you find your BD-2 crackly, for the loss of a better word?

It sounded something like that with my amp (5 watt Supro). I liked the OD-3 better, but it has a little too much bass. This is why I had to go with something like the Charlie Brown (any pedal with 3 band EQ wins).

I guess all dirt pedals react variably with different amps. So my MMV.
Highjack away! I’ve tried the BD-2 several times including the waza. Ultimately wasn’t for me but not crackly. I have heard of artifacts as notes fade but that may have been fixed. I found the OD-3 bass heavy too as well as a bit loose in the low end. The OD-1X ended up being just right for me!

TC have an inexpensive clone of BD2 called el marine or cindy or something. Has a green-ish paint job instead. You can try it next time you wanna try BD2 type pedal again. I am too lazy and stubborn to try a pedal second time.

Do you use a noise gate? I initially loved the OD-1X but it had a fuzz like "background noise" to it. Could be a power supply issue or amp problem too.

Not sure I'd describe it as crackly? It sounds more like a typical distortion circuit when you crank the gain, so there is a bit more harshness and sizzle in the high end, imo. I prefer the OD-3 for it's smoothness, although the BD-2 is useful in its lower gain settings as it cuts the low end a bit more when needed.
