I’ve had enough good first impressions with gear to be cautiously optimistic when I dig something initially, but…

These may be the best clean tones I’ve gotten from any piece of gear I’ve ever owned. The delays and reverbs on this thing are amazing. I kept flicking through the delays and every one of them is phenomenal. The reverbs are tasty. :chef Tunnel? Yes please. Badass. Wood room? Wtf. Awesome.:ROFLMAO:

And it has the SLO clean channel!!! Conventional wisdom is a Fender, Vox or some other bougie amp has the best cleans. The clean channel on the SLO is my jam. :bag Really miss not having that on the QC.

I’m warming to this f*cker real quick. :ROFLMAO:

Using DynaCabs yet? Thats when it gets real wild

On that note, I still have a hard time understanding that the FM9 and Tone Master Pro are the same price. I guess if you reaaaally like spring reverb, maybe it puts them at an equal value, but otherwise… whew.

The TMP is a brand new unit, the FM9 has been around for a while and has Fractal’s history and developments behind it. Pretty brave move for Fender to price themselves into direct competition this way.

Fender is a household name while Fractal Audio Systems is a very niche manufacturer that even most lifelong guitar players have never heard of. The huge marketing budget and brand name recognition will sell loads of product even if it is overpriced relative to the offerings from FAS. They're not really competing for the same customers.

Fender is a legacy brand, and that's what their customer base wants from them. The Tonemaster amps were not exactly embraced by the diehard "only Fender tube amps are good enough" crowd, the TMP is reaching beyond their traditional customer base. Anybody that researches the TMP in consideration of making a $1700 purchase is going to find out really quick about what else is out there for the same money.

Yeah, the delays, verb and chorus are really delicious. I knew you'd enjoy them.
