Myself, I bought a Fireball 25 for somethng High Gain that wasn't one of my Orange Terrors - which I love, but aren't "tight" and the Clean on the Rocker 15 needs pedals or its just bland. I did not expect to like it as much as I do and can't wait to play it.

I also bught a 1x12 Extension Cab for my Bad Cat Black Cat, made sure I connected it correctly - and the damn thing is swamped with Reverb and sounds totally crud. On the Black Cat the Reverb is also a Volume control.

My Strat sounds better with the Fireball Clean (has a mid boost option) with no pedals than anything the Black Cat is currently doing with a long sig chain in front. I may unhook the Cab and see what Head might go with a Custom Voiced V30... Hot Cat?

Oh man.... I hear you. But when amps are right -- and they pair with where we are at,
and what we are playing --- it is just so glorious. :chef

Sometimes a simple and super direct signal chain is perfection. Hands>Guitar>Cable>Amp>Cable>Cab. :banana

Hope you get the Bad Cat sorted. Sometimes a different day yields a different result. :beer

Yeah, the Mid Boost is probably the feature I haven't used much - still learning the amp. And having a lot of fun adjusting to each of my guitars and what I want to get out of it at any given moment. The Presence really adjusts the Clean channel nicely.

I haven't had a Noise Gate like this before!

So mostly about 3 on Master and and maybe 7 on Lead. I wasn't expecting the Strat to sound so good on the Lead - or the ESP with active pickups to sound so good Clean. The Reverend with their P90 variant sounds terrific as well.

Loving the amp! I'll sort out the Black Cat soon, just having fun with the Engl.

I’ve circled the drain on the E530 too, but there is not enough online to ever really feel comfortable enough to pull the trigger over the other crap in my list.

If you’ve never played the Powerball module it’s awesome, but you gotta have a SYN rack/dock.

Anywho, I am trying to figure out how I am going to route it and what my Configuration is going to be. I plan to
try incorporating it into the Fractal, and then use the Cab Block from the Fractal. Anyone else doing something
similar?

Should I just run it into the FX Loop... and still use the Input of the Fractal? Or should I run into the Engl and
then use the Fractal for Cab Block? :idk

Or should I make a new f'ing thread?? :LOL:

I way preferred the 530 with a poweramp (or model of one), I’d try and pair it with something that’ll do the poweramp thing if you can
 
That's one of the many things I was/am curious about. I have a feeling I am going to learn some things.

Loved that preamp!!…for its medium gain sounds. (Sure it does high gain excellent also, not my thing)
Hit that contour button, crank the low mids, gain at the point where you get sustain…almost dumbly ;)

Btw…did you know you can use the headphone out to drive cabs? You need a trs, mono 1/4 inch in poweramp mode short circuits stuff…bad idea. If I’m correct a 2x2.5w poweramp in there.
 
Guilty of FB25-enabling, hehe. Played it today and cranked the clean channel. It has a built in load and line out so played with headphones. Really nice, especially when paired with my Wampler Euphoria!

I’ve been tempted by preamps here and there but always fall short when it comes to power amp sims or similar. I just feel like there’s something missing when running a preamp directly to IRs, at least the few times I’ve tried it and for me the headphones option is a necessity so I don’t need/want an actual power amp except what I’ve already have.

Gonna be interesting to hear what you think of the Engl preamp!
