Whelp got the head last Friday and had no plans to take it to our last gig of the year that night, however after initially being let down that my Golden pearl OD did not pair with it well I began to bond with the plexi's throaty percussive clean tones. The setlist included about 8 tunes to start the night with cleanish tones and the FM3 has good cleans but can never deliver the punchy awesomeness of a real amp.

I ended up using ch 2 that night for all my crunch which was good but the following day I pulled out the ole SD-1 to test with ch1 and bam tamed to lows while not crushing them and instant Plexi goodness with all the dynamics from rock crunch to lower gain tones.

Dave voiced this rig with a low end that for the golden pearl was too much. Fortunately it's not a dark overall compressed voicing. It has plenty of top end raw open goodness on both channels thankfully!!

How does it differ from the 20w is the most often asked question. If you compared el 84' to 34;s the answer is obvious. The 20w can do lower volume tones with the Sat switch engaged, but can still hang with a drummer and provide all the ear bleeding volume ever needed. The 50 has a more percussive robust full sound. The MV hit you hard and fast like the small box. some may even want to use a load box with IR's which I cannot stomach. Give me head to 4x12 with minimal reverb and delay from processor which switches channels and delay amounts for solos!
