You know how the HX Stomp has less processor than the Helix flagship?

What about the GT-1000 Core? Does it have less processing power than the GT-1000 or are they both equally capable?

See, I'm thinking that I need to try a GT-1000 and I think I'd be happier with the smaller size. More importantly, guys, do I need to try the GT-1000?

GT-1000 Core has the same power as the GT-1000. I shouldn't but I've been close to grabbing another one to run effects with my Friedman amp...

That’s what I’m asking. Thanks. I don’t really see a reason for me to get the big version unless it offered something I needed.

I have the HX Stomp but i also have Helix Native so I’m not really missing much on that front.

That would sell Core to me. Thanks.
I find them very handy.

I’ve used the core for a couple of years on a “hybrid board” and in 4cm…and i think it’s one of the best units out there for that application. Solid efx, musical time efx, very complete IO set (including relay ), and mature midi implentation to control the core itself, or other stuff in your setup.

I didn’t like the amps though. They get a lot of praise for their feel, and i get that, but for me it was a bit too much “feel”, overly compressed/squishy. The UI is not the most modern, but adequate imho.

I abandoned use of it cause I didn’t want to deal with multiple platforms (and i also use modeling setups), but for use with preamps/4cm I still think it’s one of the best out there. I’ve used it with a midicontroller also, then you get pretty close to what the full version offers,

The ms3 is also a unit to consider for use with an amp/pedals, efx are more bread and butter, no amp/IR capabilies, but 3 loops and a couple more switches extra. (And a nice “stomp mode”.)

I’m actually after the amp models. I’m hoping for something that sounds excellent rather than sounds authentic.
