You just can’t trust online information

And yes we get that you wanna relate everything to the parent major irregardless of tonal center ala Nashville Numbers.
However this thread started you moping about keys.
NNS is for easily transposed shit on the fly. And to fit 16 tunes on a cocktail napkin but but guess what folks write tunes that aren’t in major keys.

So, could you answer what the tonal center of the verse of Sledgehammer is?
Bachman-Turner Overdrive or Peter Gabriel (ugh, I always hated that video)?

If you answered my question it would show that I’m correct. The progression could easily be communicated and that’s the whole point.

Gabriel. I even posted the video.

No. I might record your progression later on. Just that it's using notes from F major doesn't mean it actually is F major.

No. The tonal center is of vital importance. And you disproved your point already by analyzing the A7 in a blues in A as I7.

I never said anything about keys until you did.

It’s for efficient communication of chord progressions. I never asked you to adopt it.

No video shown. Could you pick anything else. I can’t make it through that song.

That’s irrelevant information.

Or maybe it isn’t.

False. Blues in A, 1⁷ communicates A⁷.

That’s irrelevant information.

No, the tonal center is possibly the single most relevant information in anything dealing with tonal centers.

Of course. And you still fail to sufficiently explain why the A chord in "WAF" wouldn't be a I chord.
And hey, what about the tonal center of Sledgehammer? Is it anything else but Eb?

When listening? Ok. When communicating a chord progression? Nah

Of course. And you still fail to sufficiently explain why the A chord in "WAF" wouldn't be a I chord.
Because in D, A is a 5. In A, A is a 1. I can call A the 5 in blues if you want, the result is exactly the same.

I will not be listening to that horrid song and I especially will not be viewing that video. Pick something else, anything else. I beg you.
