You just can’t trust online information

It is easier to communicate when everyone uses the same terms with the same definitions.

You might think your way is more logical, you may even be right, but by not using the common language, you are making communication more difficult for yourself and others.

Studies have shown that people with a 30-point IQ difference cannot communicate effectively.. about anything.

You might think your way is more logical

Apart from the lack of "modal tonics established by proper key signatures" it's not much more logical - if at all. I mean, there's a very clear reason why people make a distinction between roman and latin numbers. And the system itself won't get any more logical just because you're exchanging roman with latin numbers.

Apart from that, @HomespunEffects, you're saying this:

I don’t use the Roman numerals. Too much ambiguity when hand-written.

Let's for a while assume that this is a fine opinion.
But at the same time you're using "-" for minor chords. Don't get me wrong, I sometimes do so as well. But only when quickly scribbling something together for my eyes only. Because in a crowded sheet, nothing is more ambiguous than a minus sign (guess how I know...).
Personally, I most often even try to use Amin when there's sufficient space instead of Am - for the very same reasons.

And on a more abstract level, this is also why there's just major and minor key signatures and nothing inbetween. Simply because using D major for A mixo would confuse people due to its ambiguity and you'd have to at least index the mode further.

You wouldn’t. I’m assuming you’re exaggerating.

Ok. If I say “F major, play a 6- 3- 2- 4/5” what would you do? — That’s 4 over 5, not 4 of 5.

This question is open to anyone.
I’d ask you why you think that i- v- iv- bVII in Dm has fuck all to do with F other than the same pool of notes.

Home is D not F. This assbackwards way of putting together chords has FA to do with the tune.
And fwiw I dud 3 years hard time in a country gig and Dm F G to every single one of the “ no idea about theory was 1- 3 4 to them not 6- 1 2 because the functions of chords don’t work like this.

Or… why do you think a Emaj7 or Bmaj7 in C minor works? That’s about as far as you get from the key.
