Part of me wants to see a new HXFX. Even though the FX aren’t where a lot of new ground is breaking in the Hx ecosystem, the increased dynamic range might help liven things up.

I also think DI took personal issue with some of the decisions made to hit the price point, like not using the variable impedance input. The better IO would probably fix the noise issues with the loops too.

Mostly I’m expecting software. Editors, maybe plugin updates.

I’d also love to see something like an Hx Studio, which would be their variable impedance high dynamic range guitar input and a high quality converter so that you get an experience more consistent with the Hx hardware when using the plugin. An Hx Studio XL could also exist that provides some foot control of the plugin - almost like a headless helix.

On paper a studio HX FX with showcase and the same hardware specs as the flagship unit (but smaller) would be a great product.

Let's say 8 switches, 6 encoders & smaller screen, proper amount on i/o.

I'm not sure is possible to make it within a price point that makes sense.

Showcase would make sense to be exclusive to higher end units, to justify the price.

Unless there's a bunch of effects that can't run on current HX Effects, I don't know why one would upgrade.

But but but Ben Adrian says the most exciting thing is the new Augora(not-phobia) amp modeling because they'd always wanted to do more scientifically accurate things with their modeling. This despite alllllllllllll of the assertions that nobody could pick Helix from amp in properly controlled blind tests. This time they're REALLY measuring and modeling individual components...

I can't tell if its more or less exhausting hearing all that again (remember every video of Helix talking about how they modeled the light bulb in the univibe?) now that I'm pretty certain DI hasn't been lying about the blind test results all these years...

I don't understand how this answers my post you quoted😅 Agoura and any amp or cab is not in HX Effects anyway. Only effects.

The current HXFX may be the red-headed stepchild in the current lineup due to the lack of input impedance control and extraordinarily noisy effects loops. A device emulating a massive collection of vintage effects that can’t properly load the guitar pickups like the original is a pretty significant misstep.

If these issues (and that’s a BIG if) were fixed in a new version of that hardware, that may be enticing enough for some users to adopt it.

My prediction is that we see the HXFX go the way of the dinosaur, as adding all that new hardware probably makes it way too expensive.

oh well, a stadium version of HX FX can be a higher end unit if you make it higher end....adding stadium, i.e. ;)

Problem is, as I wrote earlier, I don't think (and I know nothing about building modellers) there an easy way to make it a proper price point.

What would be the goal with HX FX Stadium? With the aircraft carrier footprint of OG Helix I get why folks needed a thing that was bigger than a Stomp, but smaller than a Helix for effects use. I'm not sure why you'd need that with these new form factors.

Something without footswitches but isn't as huge as a rack processor. I understand the screen would make it huge so this may never exist, I don't care about a touch screen, could even offload that to a pad on a mic stand for all I care. I just want the brains disconnected from the switches and not to lug around a big ass rack case. 🦄
Oh, a Stadium bean like the old PODs would be killer for me! YMMV of course.

Although I'm currently only interested in non-XL Stadium Floor, I'm quite curious to see what the Stadium family will consist of in 6-7 years. Like, what solutions does Line6 think the market needs that the 2 current units don't solve.

I've been tempted to get a Stomp XL for home use in the last year and a half, but with the Stadium Floor footprint and weight, I can see myself bringing it from home to the rehearsal space and back home on every rehearsal together with my guitar, something I wouldn't do with my LT because of the total weight with the flight case (because I go to the rehearsal space on foot).

And if I got really tired of carrying the Stadium, I would just get another one for home. The Stadium form factor is pretty much perfect for me and I wouldn't really enjoy a single-DSP unit.
