What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

If he didn't like it enough to keep it why would you? :idk

That's the Anti-GAS measures I use with myself when the pull of the Force is strong.

If he kept every test model they sent him he’d have to buy a warehouse just for those. They have this model in a different finish as a production run, it’d be cool to have a one-off. Though I was drooling over the production one when it came out, too-

Finished up a mini refurb on my favourite guitar. I've been having some tuning problems for a while and was missing the split coil positions (I'd fitted two conductor humbuckers a few years ago)

It's really not far off needing a refret but while I get some cash together for that I've

- swopped the pickups for Mojo PAFs
- rewired for 50s wiring with new pots and a CTS push/pull. I really didn't like the alpha push/push I used to have. I fitted resistors for partial splits of the humbuckers. I also removed the treble bleed because I don't like how it interacts with my fuzz faces.
- lampshade knobs
- had the nut slots widened for the 11s I'm using these days
- new springs for the trem. The old ones were absolutely knackered and definitely the source of my tuning frustrations.

It's sounding really great and thankfully tuning is really solid again. Can't wait to use it at an outdoor gig I'm doing in a few weeks. I've been leaving it at home for the last year because of the tuning problems.

I've always had nickel covered pickups in this guitar but I've got to say I'm loving the zebras.

Bout time I got some wall hangers..., I'm up to 9 guitars now, with the new JP15. They deserve to be out in view.

What's a good hanger that won't discolor the finish? The Majesties are high gloss poly, and the JP is Roasted Maple, unfinished, oil-rubbed, but the part that will hang I guess is that same poly. It transitions just beyond where the guitar would hang.

And get a set of strap locks.

I rewired my Les Paul. Took out the master volume, master tone, bass cut and went back to 50s style wiring. I also added a .047uF capacitor in series with the neck pickup to take out the boominess. I’ve got to get used to the two volumes again.

My uncle is coming to stay the night, which means I’ll be getting my bi-annual “You’re not as good as you think you are” schooling. I’ve been listening to that guy play my entire life and every time I see him it’s like he pulls out this whole other side I’ve never heard before that he’s equally proficient at.

I used to have that exact experience with my wife's grandad. The guy was a monster guitarist and I learned a shit load of stuff from him. Too bad I didn't get it all before he passed away last year.

Hahahah every time he comes over I gradually pull everything out of my studio in the most disorganized fashion and I end up with messes in both the living room and studio. I had to clean the studio up after last night, so I preemptively got the gear ready for him to pick what he wants to try instead of slowly discovering what I have.
