What are you listening to right now ?

Saw this video and had to crack up.

Short backstory; I took my wife to a Dying Fetus concert when she was 7 months pregnant. I was young and dumb and didn't think twice to reveal the line-up to her. We got there and she was like :hmm I'm dumb :facepalm :rofl Child is 6'6" and more than healthy so bullet dodged :ROFLMAO:

Love this new song. George finally found himself a killer vocalist and you can tell
that he and Jeff are stoked. I think it is some of the best material George and Jeff
have put out since their prime Dokken days. Fire to my ears! :chef

Man, Synyster Gates has an awesome sense of musicality that comes through loud and clear to my ears, in his solos and his writing! It's like, his note choices are fucking :chef !!!

I started an Avenged Sevenfold Chronological listening thread and couldn't finish it. :brick

I had to bail. I'll probably revisit it later.

It's me. I love the band. They just trigger me at times with being over ambitious and trying
to fit 10lbs of shit in a 20lb sack. I like music to have some space and be allowed to breathe
a little now and then. They also invoke a lot of that corny-ass Danny Elfman film score vibes
in their music at various points in their career. Everyone but Danny Elfman needs to knock
that shit the fuck off.

And the strained M Shadows vocals really get tiresome to my ear. That pinched timbre
in his voice is wearying over time---and I don't think his tonality fits everything they
try and do. Like any singer, to be honest. :idk

I kinda noticed a bit of that in a couple songs I listened to. Seemed like the song was building to a finale, but then it went and took a left turn into a cul-de-sac, did a U-ey, then came back out and finished. I was like, It seems like they're trying to cram a bit too many musical ideas into this song.

But it's not like any other bands I love ever do that! :sofa

Haha! I do love me some scenic routes from time to time. Great metaphors, Tom! :beer
