He is amazing. I love his open tuning. I learned it from a friend. Very cool.

I went to see Dio. He was with Heaven and hell at the time which was basically Black Sabbath. I took my son, he was 12 at the time. RJD passed away a few months later. I had seen the band Dio back in the 80s too. I think it was on the last in line tour.

For me, Vito was an highlight of highlights amongst all the 80s shredders. Just really
musical choices that always emphasized melodicism over flash---and he could flash
with the best of them.

I didn't always like the songs, though.

A few years ago we went to Bethel Woods aka “Woodstock” and Hank JR was one of the Performers there.
He had the longest set and never introduced his band.
I thought that was in poor taste.
It’s only my opinion but he came off as an arrogant douche.

I prefer DADGAD (which I relate to Jimmy Page), because I don't have to worry about out of tune sounding minor or major thirds.

It is a sus4 chord, basically. It doesn't have that semi "out of tune" aspect you have with major and minor third chords with gain.

When I was a kid I played that at my church. I still think that whole album is incredible. I have to run and listen to Paradise now.

The guitar harmonies are totally at ... And Justice For All level. Of course the same dudes mixed both albums, and produced this one too.

Such a great band....I've seen them more times than I can remember.

Oh that's completely awesome. I only saw them once, in the late 90s, if I remember correctly, and they opened for Buck Cherry. The show was $8! I couldn't believe this awesome band was opening for those goobers. I didn't stick around for the headliners. But anyway, Tesla was out of this world. They played their songs so much heavier than the albums, and it felt like a metal show but with a ton of rock character. Everyone was great, the whole original lineup, and somehow Tommy Skeoch was the coolest person I've ever seen perform. Something about his demeanor, his stage presence was like seeing Sean Penn at his toughest, or something like that. And it was godly to see the interplay between him Frank Hannon.

Yup. It's fan-fucking-tastic. Found our beloved Orv and his TNBD at the Fractal Forum
a few years ago. When I heard it was Insta-purchase. He even shipped a CD to me here
in the States so I could rock out on the backroads in my Ford Ranger.
