What are you listening to right now ?

This album for a traditional metal fan is fucking fantastic \m/

I wasn't aware of them until I was in Florida in the Navy and then all of this crazy new music
came to me. That Tampa, FL scene was lit back in the mid to late 1980s. The Death Metal
scene was nutz!!!!.... with Deicide, Death, Morbid Angle, and Obituary.... then you had the
Proto-Prog Metal thing with Savatage and Crimson Glory. Such a great time in life!

Death has been my favorite band since I came across them in 1992. I was never a fan of death metal otherwise, but a band mate insisted that they are really a thrash band, and that made more sense to me. I really think of them as prog thrash personally, but that's how I think about many of my favorite albums.

Been digesting Devin's new album for the last week, I wasn't expecting to dig it as much, assuming it was more in the vein of Epicloud. There's some Devin gold on here and it's definitely closer to his earlier, pre-Devin Townsend Project music than anything he's done since. The songs are to-the-point and there's a ton of amazing melodies throughout.
