What are you GAS'ing for at the moment ?

A set of Motor City 2nd Degree Black Belts.

I've been debating what to do with my Edwards when I get rid of the EMGs and initially I figured I'd just throw a set of Aldrich's in it and put something with less output in my Orville, which has the Aldrich now. But I love that Orville and don't want to fuck with it at all, after checking out a bunch of demos.....along with Jerry Cantrell's approval in his own LP Customs, I'm grabbing a set.

The store stated it was an RG550DX from 1997 but the white colour disputes that. Can’t find it in the wikia so it’s possibly a non US.

It’s also been sold since my post.

Maybe it’s a mutt? I was always surprised they didn’t have one of these running alongside the JEM7V.

From the site:

Ok so it’s allegedly a Japan exclusive spot model. And the previous owner put a Sepultura sticker at the back. 😂

The other two are still in store and about 30 mins from my house. I should pay them a visit.

I am currently looking for a good, affordable Strat that I can equip with an EMG DG20 (David Gilmour) pickguard. Probably going for a Henry's. The only thing holding me back is that I'm not sure whether a pickguard with standard Fender dimensions will fit on a Henry's.

This isn't exactly GAS but kind of is too...

I've owned a R9 Les Paul for 10 years and haven't played it at all due to the bridge being installed upside down. So, my GAS is to get it fixed and play it. Short on cash at the moment, can't afford to have it worked on right now. Luthier's want a fortune in my area.... (have 3 quotes)

Yeah looks fine to me too.🤘

I'm a Fender guy, don't know a lot about Les Paul's, but bought this one to try it out... I tried changing strings and the bridge fell off.. Later I paid a Luthier $110 bucks to make sure it was set up correctly and he left the bridge upside down.

It's unplayable the way it is now and I don't work on guitars----I'm not mechanically inclined in any way, I just like playing.

Sorry I don't have better pictures, the guitar is buried deep in a closet and I'm too lazy to dig it out. Chances are it will stay there another 10 years ! Its a shame too, it played beautifully when I bought it...

Usually, the intonation screws are on the rear end.

Lol, I've been around in circles on this for quite some time.... Most tell me its backwards and bad, others say it doesn't matter. I'm confused.. All I know is something isn't right, it needs a setup...

I'll probably just sell it, its getting to be annoying... GC offered me $2900 I think I'll take them up on it...

Only in modern Les Pauls but this is a 1959 historic reissue model.

All custom shop reissues have the screws on the other side like the old bridges had

Also some non custom shop models, like the 50s and 60s standard, have this type of bridge.

This bridge type is called ABR-1

Man, your Les Paul has nothing wrong, trust me. You convinced yourself the bridge is upside-down but it is not. Not at all.

The bridge falling when changing strings is 100% normal because all TOM bridges are that way. Both stop tail and bridge are not fixed, they are kept in place by the strings tension.

Next time change one string at the time and you'll be fine.

Keeping an R9 in the closet for these reasons is crazy, man. Crazy.

All that took to check if the bridge was ok was to find a picture of an R9 on an online shop or Gibson website or go into a shop a see by yourself.
